Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)was a frequent and multi-occurred disease.Although widely studies had been performed on its episode reason,it still remained not completely clarified.In the numerous etiological theories,the mechanism of stromal-epithelial interaction and the effects of polypeptide growth factors(PGFs)in the process of BPH were more and more thought highly of.The PGFs,for example, Epidermal Growth Factor and Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor and their corresponding receptor,mediated the stromal-epithelial interaction through paracrine and autocrine,directly controlled the growth,differentiation and apoptosis of prostatic cells and played an important role during the process of BPH.In the present study,the expressions of EGF and bFGF and their corresponding receptors EGFR and FGFR-1 in Benign prostatic Hyperplasia through the cure of CHANFENGSHUAN with Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.The results showed that Positive stain of EGF, EGFmRNA, bFGF, bFGFmRNA, FGFR-1, FGFR-1mRNA were all observed in epithelial and stromal cells of hyperplasic prostate in R,F and D group;Positive stain of EGFR,EGFRmRNA were observed only in epithelial cells in three groups.with immmunohistochemistry positive expression of EGF in stromal cells in group R was 50%;Positive expression of EGF,EGFR in epithelial cells in group R were 75%,58.3%,They all inferior to D and F groups, The change of EGFR was notable (**p < 0.05, ++p < 0.05) . In situ hybridization positive expression of EGF in stromal cells in group R was 41.6%, Positive expression of EGF,EGFR in epithelialcells in group R were 66.6%,58.3%,They all inferior to D and F groups , The change of EGFR was notable.withimmunohistochemistry positive expression of bFGF,FGFR-l in stromal cells in group R was 33%,16.6%;Positive expression of bFGF,FGFR-l in epithelial cells in group R were 25%,33%;They all inferior to D and F groups.In situ hybridization positive expression of bFGFmRNA,FGFR-lmRNA in stromal cells in group R was 50%,16.6%;Positive expression of bFGFjnRNA,FGFR-lmRNA in epithelial cells in group R were 25%,33%;They all inferior to D and F groups ("p > 0.05, ##p > 0.05, ++p < 0.025, ??p < 0.05, +p < 0.05, p< 0.05).At the mean time,The result with immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization of EGF,FGF and their corresponding recipient were consistent.These result prompt us : CHANFENGSHUAN cure benign prostatic hyperplasia have a function of reducing the expression of EGF and EGFR in epithelial cells.The expression of bFGF and FGFR-1 were main in stromal cells,CHANFENGSHUAN cure benign prostatic hyperplasia can reduce the expression of bFGF in stromal.
