Standardized Method Of Total Correction In Tetralogy Of Fallot

Objective: To assess the accuracy of electron beam CT (EBCT) and the technique of three-dimensional reconstruction in the diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot(TOF).Methods: EBCT were performed in 20 consecutive patients (older than 5 years ) who were diagnosed as TOF with echocardiogram. Those receiving under echocardiogram and (or) operations (including pathologic deformations, the dimensions of hearts and pulmonary arteries, and ejection fraction) acted as controls, and to compare the three-dimensional reconstruction images to the exploration in operations. Results: The accuracy of EBCT in the diagnosis of TOF is 100%. EBCT can also present the degree of overriding of aorta and the position of ventricular septal defect (VSD), the accuracy are 85% and 95%, respectively. The measurement of the dimensions of VSD, pulmonary trunk, left and right pulmonary arteries, right ventricle outflow tract stenosis (RVOTS) are accord with the results in operations. The visualizations of pulmonary arteries are better than the echocardiogram. EBCT can also measure the volume of ventricles, calculate the ventricle ejection fraction, the results are correlated to the measurement of echocardiogram.
