Background Bone mass defect caused by tumor, trauma and so on was one of the most difficult problems faced by orthopedist, hence domestic and foreign scholars carried out many related researches and clinic practice for a long time. In recent years, with the development of cell biology and biologic materials, tissue engineering as one of newly rising frontier branches of science came into being because of demand and developed quickly. Repairing bone defect through the methods of tissue engineering is a new kind of therapeutic pattern and had cheerful prospects. But no methods can repair bone mass defect efficiently and achieve a long-term effect. BMP-2 is one of BMPs family members, which is proved by trials in vitro and in vivo that it could induct new bone formation and accelerate osteogenesis, but half-life of foreign growth factor is short because it was diluted or metabolized. So it must be exploited repeatedly and costs much. The key problem is how to make growth factor produce a marked effect efficiently and continuously.
