In order to search the active principles for antidiabetic from natural products, chemical studies and preliminary bio-active screening were carried out on the three kind of herbs: Incarvillea arguta(Royle)Royle, Olea europaea L. and Astragalus mongholicus (Bge) Hsiao.Sixteen compounds were isolated from the arial part of Incarvillea arguta (Royle) Royle. The structures of eleven were elucidated by chemical and spectral analyses, as: Argutine A(IA-l), Argutine B (IA-2), Argutine C (IA-3), Argutine D(IA-4), Propyl-boschniakinilate (IA-5), 4-hydroxyl-6-butyltyrosol(IA-6), Boschnia-kinic acid (IA-7), Boschniakine (IA-8), Triacontane (IA-9), Ursolic acid (IA-10) and Phthalic dibutylester (IA-11). From which IA-1, IA-2, IA-3, IA-4, IA-5, IA-6 were new compounds, and IA-7, IA-8, IA-11 were the first isolated from this genus.Thirty three compounds were isolated from the fresh leaves of Olea europaea L. and twenty-six of which were identified by spectral techniques and chemical methods, including ten secoiridoids, four...
