How to repair the bone defect and nonunion of human limbs? It is a clinical puzzle and has troubled everyone pay close attention to it because of the limited resource of autogenous bone and immunological rejection of homogenous bone for transplantation. It has been a study highlight in orthopedics territory for many years. The tissue engineering, reparation and reconstruction of destroyed or sick tissue and organ with engineering principle and techniques, is a new thought and means surpassed over the past. It is bringing a revolution in theory and technology about the therapeutics of bone defect and nonunion caused by trauma, tumor and infection. It was considered that revascularization plays an initial and crucial effect to enhancing the rate and quality of new bone formation of large tissue-engineered bone. The tissue-engineered bone will be limited in a condition of smaller and thinner if effective blood circulation can not be set up in time in it. The methods and techniques about re-establishment of blood circulation in tissue-engineered bone are still in research. But now, it has been conformed that revascularization can enhance the rate and quality of new bone formation of tissue-engineered bone. The nervous system has the effects of regulation and trophism to bone in its growth, development and repair of trauma. It is believed now that these effects come from many kinds of bioactive polypeptides in peptidergic nerve, such as...
