Carcinoma of the esophegus and cardia of the stomach are the most common malignant disease of the G-I tract in China. The Preferable treatment up to date is surgical resection and esophagogas trostomy. Unfortunately the postoperative quality of life in nearly one half of the patieats is more or less unsatisfied due to the presence of reflux esophagitis that occured in most cases following the convenfional end-to-side anastomosis.
