Diseases related to atherosclerosis(AS) are the highest morbidity rate and mortality rate in most diseases that seriously threaten the health of human. Studying the pathogeny and mechanisms of AS can provide a new direction to postpone and retroconvere the progress of AS, consequently decrease the rate of morbidity and mortality of diseases relate to AS. So the study is the one of the most important research in the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular syudy fields.The research reviewed the study progress of AS on the modern medicine and found AS is the complicated and multiple factors disease. The mechanisms of molecular and cell of AS are uncertain. The main risk factors for AS are dyslipidemia, inflammatory factors, endothelium functions disturbance and endotoxin and so on.Lots of clinical and experimental study showed dyslipidemia has a close relationship with AS. Dyslipidemia including total cholesterol (TC) low-density lipoprotein(LDL) triglyceride(TG) apolipoprotein B 100 lipoprotein a (LP a) increase, high-density lipoprotein(HDL) apolipoprotein A decrease, all of these belong to the risk factors of AS.
