The purpose of the research is to explore the telomerase activity in human Colorectal Carcinomas and their adjacent tissues and to investigate the Possibility of telomerase activity as Colorectal Carcinoma biological marker by TRAP assay, on the other hand, in order to explore the relationship between the P53 , MRP expression and the clinicopathologic feature and prognosis in rectal Carcinoma. Immuno-histochemical technique was used to detect P53 protein and MRP protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue specimens of rectal Carcinoma. The result showed that no telomerase activity in 20 adjacent samples and 3 benign lesions was detectcd. However, of 37 colorectal Carcinoma specimens, 35 Samples were positive for telomerase activity with a 94.6% positivity rate. And no significant association was found telomerase activity with tumour location , Clinical stage , histological grade and CEA.Immunohistochemical studies, the positive reaction specimens of P53 and MRP was 30/60(50%) and 31/60 (51.7%) respectively. 14 Cases positive for both P53 and MRP (23.3%). No significant Correlation was found with the expression of...
