Part One: The Feasibility of Intravascula Ultasound in Pulmonary Arteries in Vitro1. Imagings of IVUS in Pulmonary Artey and Comparison of Pulmonary Artery Morphology With IVUS Versus Angiography In VitroObjective: To determine the feasibility of intravascular ultrasound techniques in pulmonary artery and to assess the morphology of pulmonary artery with IVUS versus angiography.Method: Vessel diameter and cross-area assessed by IVUS imagings and digital subtraction angiography. Evaluated and compared them at identical sites in 52 pulmonary artery segments from 13 autopsy studies. Digital subtraction angiographic dimeter and area were determined geometriclly by SIEMENS ANCOR 2.3.1 Cardioangiographic Imaging Analysis System. Intravascular ultrasonographic diameter and area were determined by planimety.Result: Linear correlation for diameter by the two techniques was 0.98, standard error of the estimate (SEE)=1.61mm, and for cross-...
