Nuclear transcription factor- κ B(NF- κ B),also named as nuclear factor- κ B,is an important type of nuclear transcription factor widely lying in eukaryotic creatures. NF- κ B is a type of protein-family made up of complicated polypeptide subunits., whose family members usually exist in the form of homodimer or heterodimer. I κ B α , the inhibiter of NF- κ B, lies in the cytoplasm. Only when working together with these active factors, can NF- κ B be activated and have a fundamental function in the process of conduction of signals. NF- κ B also plays a role in gene's regulation of many physiological, pathological processes, such as the inflammation, immune and the carcinogenesis and development of tumor. Now NF- κ B has become a focus in medical research.Recently, there are some reports about the expression of NF- κ. B in the bladder carcinoma, breast carcinoma, gastric carcinoma, large intestine carcinoma, lung carcinoma, oral cavity carcinoma and many other carcinomas. It has been found that the expression or protein activation of NF- κ B has a relationship with the carcinogenesis, invasion, metastasis and the grade of tumor. NF- κ B can promote the proliferation of tumor cells and the formation of vessels in tumor, suppress the apoptosis of the tumor cells, and regulate ICAM-1 and MMP-9 to degrade the ECM,which is benifical for the invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. Furthermore, some researchers have proved that...
