Theoretical Study On The State Of The Liver To Caducity

The function and effect of the liver on caducity were discussed in this article from the aspect of the state of the liver. Different from traditional spleen-kidney caducity theory, the state of the liver was focused as a result. New ways of maintaining and regulating liver so as to stay caducity were brought forward. It was of great significance to prevent middle-aged presenility and some psychosomatic diseases.First of all, the concept and characteristics of the liver state was expatiated. Traditional Chinese medicine holds that the manifestation and state of the liver is a functional system of the gallbladder, tendon and eyes inside corresponding to the nature outside under the guidance of concept of entity based on anatomy. Accordingly, it is characterized as ascending and dispersing similar to the state of natural lives in spring.Secondly, it was put forward that the deficiency of the liver-qi is the trigger of caducity. As it was said in the Chapter of Tiannian in Lingshu that"the liver-qi gets to be weakened, the liver lobes become thin, the bile turns to be less and the vision start to be blurred at the age of fifty."The early symbols of presenility are"blurred vision","unmovable tendon"and abnormal emotional changes etc. Consequently, the conclusion of the liver being the trigger was reached. The symptoms of the deficiency of the liver-qi indicate the beginning of caducity.Thirdly, liver dysfunction may lead to various psychosomatic diseases and formation of blood stasis and phlegm stagnation, which are the important pathological factors to caducity. The normal dispersion of the liver and regulating qi activity result in the harmony of blood and qi, coordination of viscera, which will prevent the occurrence of disease and caducity. While the abnormal dispersion and stagnation of qi may cause the disharmony ofqi and blood and abnormal emotional changes, which will further lead to the blood stasis and phlegm stagnation and diseases will thus occur.Finally the relation between the liver and caducity was analyzed in this article with the liver qi regulation being the premise to caducity because the regulation of qi activity serves as the source for kidney-essence, blood and qi.
