Remodeling after myocardial infarction has a negative impact on ventricular function, outcome and survival. Earlier reperfusion has been shown to limit ventricular remodeling in early phase, the long term effect of earlier reperfusion on ventricular remodeling has not been studied. The aim of present study is to observed long term change of left ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction and the long term effect of earlier reperfusion on it.Materials and methods: Anesthetised mongrel dogs were subject to either permanent left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion (MI group) or 2 hours coronary artery occlusion followed by reperfusion (IR group) by percutaneous catheterization technique. Left ventricular shape, structure and function were examined by cine ventriculography and cine magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) at preocclusion, 2 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months and 6months after myocardial infarction. Hemodynamic parameter and histopathologic examination were underwent at time course as above. Results:1. Hemodynamic parameters: Two hours after coronary artery occlusion, left ventricular systolic pressure decreased and left ventricular end diastolic...
