Many scientific researches have been done on the morphology and function of regeneration axons after end-to-side neurorrhaphy It is commonly accepted that regeneration axons came from the donor nerve which was able to go across the nerve gap to dominate receptor nerve. This surgical technique could be used to repair peripheral nerve injuries and was of great clinical value. However, no strong evidence was provided to show the connection between regeneration axons and neuron cells. No final conclusion has yet been reached on the regeneration sequences of different nerve types, regeneration process and mature level. No studies have been made on the start time of plasticity growth cone extended forward, the capability of axonal transport, and the synthesis regular pattern of association proteins in neuron cells of dorsal root ganglion (DRG).
