It has been aware for a long time that heterogeneity exists in the vascular endothelium of different blood vessels, but not much attention has been paid to it until recent years. The heterogeneity of vascular endothelium shows in several aspects such as structure, metabolism , function, antigens on cell surface, etc. The heterogeneity relates to the function of tissue and organ closely, and plays an important role in the physiological and pathological processes. The relation between organ preference of tumour metastasis and heterogeneity of vascular endothelium is well known. There are a lot of studies on the general biology of endothelium, but only a few on heterogeneity of vascular endothelium, especially on that of microvascular endothelium. As a main component part of microcirculation, microvascular endothelium has an important role in the regulation of local circulation and so on. It has been recognized that the microcirculation of different parts or regions of brain has heterogenous response to +Gz stress, but the role of microvascular endothelium is unclear. Based on the research of aerospace medicine and radiation pathology,we investigated some functions of brain microvascular endothelium in view...
