A Study On Landscape Painting

This paper explores the personal skills and styles in the sketch and schemata of the Chineselandscape painting. A Chinese landscape painter observes nature to sketch through a seriesof special ways of tour view, experiencing, memories and sketch. Sketch accumulating willreflect the personal skills of ink and strokes in schemata. The paper analyzes therelationship between sketch and the skills, the effects of sketch to schemata and thecorresponding between various ways of landscape paintings, from various factorsconcerned in the early period of painting, and from the different views and types of thesuccessive dynasties landscape painting. Under the eastward spread of Western Culture,there were several representatives sketch opinions appeared, such as the tourismlandscape and Gu Fa(reference to evaluating and analyzing of art works in classic Chinesecalligraphy theory)by Huang Binhong; the sketch directly to the scenery and thetransformation of skills by Li Keran; the links between sketch and creation by Lu Yanshao;all that affected the sketch opinions in the 20 th century. These masters’ special skills andstyles of landscape painting open the schemata transformation. This paper selects thetypical landscape sketch paintings of successive dynasties, compares the traditional andmodern time schemata, and explores the changes of paintings skills and styles in sketch andschemata.Sketching changes the decadence of the landscape paintings. In recent days, the artistsextend the form quality of the traditional Chinese painting with sketch, create the newschemata and transform the personal artistic language and form their special symbol. Thereexist kinds of models in the modern landscape painting sketch, among which the “sketchfrom the nature” in the 20 th century has more interests and value on the personal skillsthan the traditional ways of tourism, comprehend and memorize. This paper analysis andcompares the traditional and modern landscape sketch, and discovers somemisunderstanding which is reflecting by the painting circles. This phenomenon guides ussearching the origins of the landscape sketch gently, spontaneously consider the vital life ofthe language of Chinese landscape schemata. The author has studies the Chinese paintingand philosophy, went to the museum to research the existing traditional Chinese paintingsand documents, apprehending and comparing the sketch landscape paintings in successivedynasties. She also has attended academic seminars and did case study of one work,elaborates the changes of schemata of different times from the process of sketch oflandscape painting. This paper not only researches on the sketch manner of successivedynasties, also studies the modern artists’ comprehension and exploration on the landscapetheory, and discovers that the schemata requires the brushwork in the process of sketch.This paper has theoretical significance value on the artistic concept and practice of thelandscape painting.
