To be defined as "the other" or something else basically expresses a malformed pattern when a person trys to deal with relationship between him and himself, or him and other people. This pattern that can also be called "alienation" radically build its values on materialization which have arrogated one’s characteristics, life value and meaning, and is always going with objectification, dissimilation, distortion, etc. Only by practice can the education be regarded as reasonable or unreasonable. The reasonable education usually has its boundaries. Once arrogate these boundaries in practice, the education will be defined as "the other"——which always embodies an obscure survival status——and then lost its ego.Sympathy is a special kind of thing that implies a specific admission and comprehension. In different contexts, the sympathy’s role will change, but its basic spirit is stable. Sympathy is mainly composed of three components, they are emotion, cognition and behavior. These three factors respectively exercise their power in different dimension of sympathy, and make the sympathy highlight different roles, value basis and pursuits. To eliminate problems that being regarded as "the other" in education is to avoid things that caused by incorrect relations or distorted existence feelings. To this end, we should develop a certain space in educatin so as to coordinate relationships between existing educational powers. The opposition of sympathy and alienation, and so is the special action rhythm and rich functional attributes of sympathy, state clearly that sympathy have a transcendence as compared with alienation. Fostering one’s sympathy by sympathic approach is also a continuous that keeping the education from being regarded as "the other". However, sympathy is not the only possibility power which used to eliminate these problems.Sympathy is an important attribute that the realistic education should pursuit. The core meaning of sympathic education can be regarded as "fostering one’s sympathy by sympathic approach". However, as an educational idea, the sympathic education can also be summarized as keeping a balance between different relationships in education. For educators, if they lack necessary value standpoints or hesitate to certain positions, their efforts in educational practice may be alienated. In this regard, it is important for educators to keep a right position. The absence of sympathy in education and the alienation of educational ego often interact as both cause and effect. However, it’s an effective way for the education to find its existing sense by getting back sympathy. After defining the suitability of sympathy, an important task is to find the lost sympathy in education and to explore practical ways on sympathic education. There is no fixed routine to translate the idea of sympathic education into action. In this regard, we have to make a sketch for sympathic education in aspects of educational situations, relations, communication and participants. Sympathy is a main point in Sukhomlinski’s educational thoughts and practice which provide many enlightenments and suggestions for us.
