Along with the launching of national leisure plan and the increase of national income, wellness tourism, as one of the new growth point of future tourism, gains more popularity from tourists. Our country has a long history with culture of health preservation and rich tourism resources, but affected by per capita income, health tourism has not been commercialized. With the deepening of reform and opening up, people’s living standards gradually improve, while faced with the accelerated pace of life and the deterioration of the environment, people began to pay attention to health tourism. In recent years, our government has put forward a lot of policies which would be helpful to tourism development and upgrades, bringing the new historical opportunity for the development of wellness tourism.Nowadays as the incease of China’s economic development and people’s income level, people’s requirements for the quality of life are improved, at the same time, China also has a long history with wellness culture and therefore, a hot topic about wellness tourism has been generated in recent years, and now the various pattern of wellness business emerge in an endless stream, this also caused attention and consideration. How to find the breakthrough point combining the complex wellness culture and tourism? what kind of conditions is suitabl for keeping wellness? which are main factors influencing the experience of wellness tourism? How to make a series of wellness tourism products meeting various needs of tourists at resorts? Those have become the core problems explored by the comprehensive use of various research methods and a set of empirical researches. This paper, from the perspective of adaptation, makes research on the development of wellness tourism at resorts.Based on the domestic and international related researches, this paper constructs the theoretic model of sustainable development of wellness tourism at resorts, and makes the empirical study on Mt.Wudang&Taiji Lake Resort. The main features of this paper include creating a framework for service system of wellness tourism at resorts, namely natural ecological factors, living service factors, psychological and cultural factors and comprehensive management factors of wellness tourism, constructing service indicators and measurement indicators for the adaptation performance of wellness tourism, and puting forward6assumptions, which form the researches on the adaptation to the needs of wellness tourists at resorts.Questionnaire design and research are based on the hypothesis. SPSS18.0software are used, to questionnaire data, for the sample population statistics analysis, the descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, variance analysis.Through descriptive statistical analysis, the measurement indexes of the personality characteristics of wellness tourism are discovered, which is linked with analysis of variance followed. The four dimensions and12indicators provide a measurement tool for the understanding of the tourists’needs in resorts, also point out the direction for the adaptation of wellness tourism.Through factor analysis,12indicators, which laoding are greater than0.5, are screened out of23positive index from the original questionnaire, then4common factors were obtained, named as natural ecological factors, living service factors, psychological and cultural factors and comprehensive management factors of wellness tourism respectively.At the same time, by the analysis of variance, used to test the problem and the six hypotheses, except "gender", the other five aspects,"age","the tourist income","occupation","education" and "religion", show significant differences to the adaptation experience of wellness tourism at resorts.Finally, according to the empirical research conclusion, this paper puts forward some suggestions about wellness tourism service adaptation practice at resorts. The adaptation of natural ecological elements should meet the Chinese traditional "natural, balanced" concept, let tourists have the natural feeling. The adaptation of living service factors must comply with the "scientific, comfortable" concept, let tourists have comfortable feeling. The adaptation of psychological and cultural elements must comply with the "ordinary, easy" concept, let tourists have relaxed feeling. The adaptation of comprehensive management factors should meet the "convenience,satisfaction" concept, let tourists feel satisfied.
