Study On The Competitiveness Of Vegetable Industry In Hubei Province

As one of the world’s agricultural cradle, Hubei Province owns a long history of vegetable farming, have become a very important vegetable production and export bases in our country. Since the 12th five year plan, with Chinese increasingly integrating into the world economic tide-and the strategic adjustment of agricultural planting structure, the vegetable industry of Hubei Province have stepped into the best period in history. However, there existed new contradictions and questions. At present, the vegetable industry have enter into the period of laying equal stress on quality and quantity, but in China the traditional small-scale production still existed, such as the system of vegetable industrialization was still imperfect, the industrial infrastructure was incompatible, Social service system is still not perfect, these brought about the huge difference of vegetable industry between Hubei and the strong provinces of China as well as the developed countries, as a whole the differences were concretely characterized by the low quality of vegetable products and the deficiency of industrial sustainable development, that limited the domestic and foreign market competition of Hubei vegetable industry. The domestic and foreign market situation was ever changing, in front of the new round of trade war, how to judge the future development trend of the import and export of vegetable industry, how to grasp the development direction of vegetable industry in competition, and how to judge the future development trend of vegetable industrial import and export, studying these questions, which would not only benefit the vegetable manufacturing enterprises of Hubei Province for purposeful and better production operations in face of domestic and foreign market, for promoting the reasonable collocation of vegetable industry, but also favor provincial government of Hubei for making economic policies interrelated to develop vegetable industry, there were certain theoretical significance and important realistic consequences.Taking the industrial competitiveness theory, absolute advantage theory, comparative advantage theory and competitive advantage theory as theoretical basis, from 5 factors influencing and determining the competitiveness of vegetable industry, such as resource conditions, frastructure ability, market environment, production and marketing as main thread, combined with the development status and realistic of Hubei vegetable industry, by applying method of SWOT analysis, this article comprehensively analyzed the development strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Hubei vegetable industry. Starting from the four factor theory of Diamond Model, the theoretical evaluation model of Hubei vegetable industrial competitiveness was constructed, using the methods of cluster analysis and factor analysis to systematically evaluate the comprehensive competitiveness of Hubei vegetable industry. On the one hand the competitiveness ranking of Hubei vegetable industry among provinces was measured, on the other hand through comparative analysis of provinces’vegetable industrial competitiveness, the advantages and disadvantages of the competitiveness of Hubei vegetable industry were obtained. On these basis, the article put forward the development strategies of Hubei vegetable industry, the targeted and operational countermeasures were proposed.There were 11 chapters in the article, the main content was as follows.Chapter I Introduction. The background, purpose and meanings of the subject were mainly illustrated, the basic conception, major elements, methods and some possible innovation were explained, for determining the starting point.Chapter II The literature reviews and theoretical basis. The relative domestic and foreign research status were briefly discussed, the relative theories were reviewed, for laying the theoretical basis.Chapter Ⅲ The development status of vegetable industry in Hubei Province. Based on combing the fundamental state of vegetable industry in Hubei Province, the achievements and characteristics of vegetable industrialization in Hubei were summarized systematically.Chapter Ⅳ The SWOT analysis on the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hubei Province. On the basis of Chapter III and through the SWOT analytical framework, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the factors influencing the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hubei Province were analyzed.Chapter V The evaluation model and empirical analysis of the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hubei province. Firstly, we build the Hubei Province’s vegetable industry competitiveness evaluation theory evaluation model and index system, then, comprehensive score in Hubei Province is 0.1367, ranked No.11, clearing in Hubei Province in the competitive position through the factor analysis method analysis. in order to clear Hubei Province in the level of competition, Hubei and Anhui etc.7 Province get performance 48.532, belonging to the third class, are in the medium level of competition through cluster analysis. Finally, we analysis the influence factors of vegetables industry competitiveness in Hubei through inter provincial comparison.Chapter Ⅵ-Chapter Ⅹ The concrete analysis on the influence factors of vegetable industry in Hubei Province. Chapter Ⅵ The further analysis and evaluation on the influence factors of the resource conditions competitiveness of Hubei’s vegetable industry. The main research results were summed up, accordingly some relative countermeasures were put forward, and the research on the next step were looked forward.This article was different from the other researches related with vegetable industry from angle of industrial development, based on the relative theories of industrial competitiveness, the study constructed the index system and model evaluating on the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hubei Province from the angle of competitiveness, from provincial angle, on the basis of the newest official statistical data, combined with a variety of methods, the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hubei Province was studied in detail for the first time, the conclusion was original, comparable and referential. This study was suitable to actual circumstances, with practical reference value.
