In the past 20 years, vegetables industry developed rapidly, which has become the first major industry in the planting of Hebei Province, ranking the second after Shandong Province as one of"Three Major Vegetables Basket in the World". The vegetable industry is rapid growth industry driven by domestic demand in Hebei Province, however, under the new situation of economic globalization and increasingly sophisticated market economy, vegetable industry competitiveness is becoming increasingly important. The vegetable industry has also begun to enter the excess period, which makes the vegetables production change from the price competition era to the quality competition era. It becomes the plight of agricultural efficiency, rural incomes, increasing foreign exchange and restructuring vegetables industry in Hebei Province. The future development of vegetable industry faces enormous challenges in Hebei Province. To some extent,these challenges were to affect and restrict the competitiveness of vegetables industry in Hebei Province. Where do the factors lie actually with the decision of vegetables industry competitiveness in Hebei Province? Under the situation of increasingly sophisticated market economy, how do we enhance the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hebei Province? How do we make the vegetable industry select the right strategic in Hebei Province? How should Hebei Province government regulate the competitiveness and guide the right strategy implementation of vegetables industry? The research on these issues has not only theoretical significance, but also important practical significance.Based on the theory of traditional trade, industrial organization, comparative advantage, competitive advantage, resource based theory and strategic management, influencing and determining the factors of vegetable industry competitiveness as the main line, combined with the status and development practice of vegetables industry competitiveness in Hebei Province, this thesis adopts the analysis methods of factor, cluster, multivariate statistics, nonlinear regression, contribution of production factors and grey relation. Using modern statistical software SPSS and econometric software Eviews etc., adopting the research methods of combination of macro and micro, quantitative and qualitative, horizontal and vertical comparison, this thesis builds the theoretical framework, evaluation index system and evaluation model of the vegetables industry competitiveness in Hebei Province. Analyzing the policy implications of the data in these models, the vegetables industry is analyzed and evalued in quantity by the evaluation system of application index and evaluation model in Hebei Province. Finally, the author draws up the feasibility development strategies and proposes the targeted and feasible policies and proposals.This thesis has nine chapters including introduction, which mainly includes the six parts contents:The first section is the introductory. The section presents paper background, clarifies the study purpose and significance, reviews and comments the research situation and progress of the domestic and foreign, describes the research methods, content and framework, and finally introduces the technical route of this study and possible innovations points.The second section is the theory. The related concepts are defined on the vegetable industry competitiveness. The section indicates the vegetables classification in this paper, clarifies the competitive "pyramid"level system and the logical relationship between them. Through summary of the competitiveness theorety basis and determinants, the section builds the competitiveness model of vegetable industry in Hebei Province.The third section is the evaluation model and comprehensive evaluation. The section discusses the construction principles, classification and selection basis of vegetable industry competitiveness index. On this basis, the section uses the cluster analysis methods for the vegetables industry of Chinese 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. The results of cluster analysis are that the national vegetable industry is divided into five main categories. Based on the results of cluster analysis and the actual situation of vegetables industry, the section selects the data of Hebei, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, Yunnan, Sichuan and Henan Provinces to do the factor analysis. The results of factor analysis are that the competitiveness scores is fifth about the vegetable industry in Hebei Province. Comparing the top four provinces, it needs to be further improved for the vegetable industry competitiveness in Hebei Province.The fourth section is the status analysis. The agriculture of Hebei Province is analyzed from the six-party of administrative division, geographical location, topography, climate, water resources and agricultural profile etc.. On this basis, the current situation of vegetable industry is analyzed from three levels of supply, consumption and trade in Hebei Province.The fifth section is the competitive analysis of vegetable industry. This section is the key part in the paper, which is composed of four components, namely, environment competitiveness, factors competitiveness, displaying competitiveness and product competitiveness. The environment competitiveness of vegetable industry is described from the ecological environment, institutional environment and related industries in Hebei Province. The market environment competitiveness is demonstrated from an empirical point, answering the influence factor of urban and rural residents in vegetable consumption. The factors competitiveness is described from five elements of resources, capital, technology, human capital and infrastructure. The production factors contribution of vegetable industry is analyzed from the empirical methods. The whole vegetable industry lie the increasing returns to scale in Hebei Province. However, epitaxial growth is inefficient. The vegetable exports situation of Hebei Province is described from the position of total agricultural products and vegetables exports, total vegetable exports (volume), vegetable export structure and trade flow. Building seven indicators that they are international market share, revealed comparative advantage, trade competitiveness, export advantage variation, export dependence, export contribution rate and import share, the display competitiveness of vegetable industry is determined and evalued in Hebei Province. The empirical analysis is used to analyze the inter-provincial export competitiveness of vegetable products, and the result is that display competitiveness ranks No. 3 for vegetable products of Hebei Province in China. The principal component scores are not ideal about the trend of export competitiveness, and the strength of display competitiveness is weak, but the display competitiveness of vegetables industry is a good foundation. The vegetable products competitiveness includes four aspects competitiveness of price, quality, marketing and brand. The vegetable products competitiveness is analyzed by price and cost. Combining with the status of vegetable products quality and brands, we point out the existence problems of vegetable products quality and brands in Hebei Province. As an example that how does Zhangjiakou celery enter into the vegetable market of Beijing, the author analyzes the marketing competitiveness of vegetable products in Hebei Province.The sixth section is the strategy, measures and recommendations. Based on the results of previous paper research, the author proposes the strategic choices to enhance the vegetable industry competitiveness in Hebei Province, namely the strategy of"protecting vegetables by ecology","strengthening vegetables by science and technology","driving vegetables by export"and"building vegetables by brand".Finally, according to the four strategic choices, from six different angles of government policy, ecology environment, infrastructure, technological innovation, vegetables export and vegetables brand, the paper is given some countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the competitiveness of vegetables industry in Hebei Province.According to the analysis, dissertation1 and induction of six parts content in the papers, we derive 14 conclusions from different angles. Since this study is subject to many factors, there are still shortcomings. For these deficiencies, the outlook for further research and future research need to be improved from four areas.Innovations of this paper include: The first is that combined with the competition-related theory, the paper establishs the competitive analysis model and evaluation index system of vegetable industry in Hebei Province. It provides an analytical framework for the comprehensive and accurate assurance the competitive situation of vegetable industry. The second is that according to the characteristics of vegetable industry production, the paper establishs the production function to analyze the current factor contribution structure for the development of vegetable industry in Hebei Province. The third is that developed to enhance the"competitive strategy model"of the vegetable industry copetitivenesms, the paper proposes the targeted and practical strategies and countermeasures to improve the competitiveness of vegetable industry in Hebei Province.
