The rotary control head homemade lacked high-pressure series and existed some problems. So, the new XK35-17 rotary control head was designed on the base of collecting the information about the design, analysis, calculation and use of the rotary control head inside and outside the country. And then, the mathematics model was firstly set up to analyze the force that the rotary control head endured when the preventer installed aslant. This bettered the working capability of the rotary control head homemade and optimized its structure. This paper provided the theory according and ways for improving the development of the rotary control head homemade. The research of this paper is the main work of the cooperating item "the dynamic analysis and seal project research of the rotary control head homemade" between the Southwest Petroleum Institute and Talimu Prove Impolder Headquarters. The main studying work combining with the yield is following:(1) The characteristic and developing way of the rotary control head were found through collecting and analyzing the information of it inside and outside the country. And the detailed developing scheme was put forward combining the technique status of the rotary control head with the yield of the Talimu oil field.(2) According to the working mechanism and using condition of the rotary control head, the whole structure of it was fringe designed using the traditional method. And then, the 3D model of the XK35-17 rotary control head has been drawn and assembled. From the whole, the structure of the rotary control head designed by us is reasonable. And there is no intervening phenomenon in the structure during the assembling. This supplied the groundwork for the mechanics analysis and optimization design.(3) According to the working condition and using environment of the XK35-17 rotary control head, the reasonable constraints and loads were set up. The main parts bearing the loads, such as shell body, rotary assembly shell, center pipe and bearing pressing cover, have been carried through with finite element intension check using the structure module of the Pro/E software. The results show that the strength and stiffness of the parts could meet the working needs. The safety coefficient is big.(4) Aiming at the eccentricity phenomena existing in the using of the rotary control head, the loads that the rotary control head endured causing by the installing aslant were calculated. These works offered the groundwork to the dynamics analysis of the rotary control head.(5) To know the infection on the bolts and bearing when the rotary control head were working under the installing aslant, the dynamic analysis were carried out. And, the natural frequency of the drill string and the frequency of the loads were calculated and the resonance was avoided.(6) Because there were some problems in the seal equipment of the rotary control head, several kinds of the seal schemes were put forward. According to the working needs and manufacture technology, one kind of the seal scheme was chosen. The new seal equipment was designed to solve the problems existing in the using of the rotary control head.In a word, this paper designed the XK35-17 rotary control head to solve the problems existing in the using of the rotary control head homemade, such as excessively abrasion and lapse early. The loads caused by the aslant installing of the preventer system were calculated. This provided the chosen of the bearing with the theoretic according. The research work of this paper improved the general technique level of the rotary control head. It was provided the development of the new product with important theory meaning and application value.
