Research Of Design On Public Space Environment In Zhengzhou Urban Settlements To Enhance Neighborhood Association

Promoting neighborhood association of urban settlements is a hot problem in world-wide research field, the paper aims to promoting exchanges between urban residential neighborhood from the perspective of environmental design of public architectural space. Taking four settlements in Zhengzhou downtown area as the cases of focusresearch, according to the investigation need, the basic information survey on settlement activities and social interaction as well as the survey on the amount of walking and motorized transport in re residential street or market are designed. Through statistical records, questionnaires, interviews, pictures, etc. a large amount of data is collected. The number of static activities in the Public Spaces of four settlements in winter, spring and summer is in-depth counted and analyzed. The interaction conditions, the use of seats in the public space of four settlements in summer day, as well as the state of neighborhood in four settlements, and so are in-depth compared and analyzed too.From the social, historical angles, the social, historical causes which affect the interaction between urban neighborhood are summarized in eight areas. These causes are in-depth analyzed. Then the common, underlying factor is pointed out, which is based on the decline of interaction opportunities between urban residential neighborhood. The key to enhance neighborhood association is to create the interaction opportunity.Next, the guideline of work to enhance neighborhood association is established that is creating the interaction opportunity. Under the guidance of it, the task of the architect's role is divided into two aspects, and the second task is divided into two research ideas and 3 little research directions:(1) Actively cooperate with the creating of the interactive opportunity in the"planned group activities"in settlements;(2) Create the interactive opportunity in the simple context of the architect's career.1) Increase or enhance the function of objective factors to meet the needs of urban residents, induce people to participate in public space, and then create more and stronger interaction possibilities:â‘ Strengthen the already existing interaction opportunities;â‘¡Create new opportunities for interaction.2) Trough planning and design means make it difficult to avoid participating some space to increase the interaction probability.The following points need to note. In the paper some research starting points seem ordinary, but as a re-return of research group after a large number of research and analysis, they are different from existing considerations of most architects in public space design. The purpose of re-study is to fully exploit or enhance their features to make them better meet the main needs of residents, attract more residents to participate the public space in settlements, thereby strengthen and increase the possibility of interaction.With the progress, change of social life, the demand of people's residential life will be evolving. Many new factors will emerge, which meet the needs of residential life and constitute new interaction opportunities.Architects must look closely, find carefully in life, boldly and actively conceive in work. After the design is completed and put into use the follow-up survey should continue. And the design process and design thinking should be revised and improved sequentially. Also the existing or newborn "interaction opportunity" should be put into the future design work continuously.
