Artificial conditions of plant cell culture, such as plant growth regulators, nutritious factors and elicitors, can be as metabolic regulation signals to regulate plant cell growth and secondary metabolite biosynthesize. Westudied the regulation of plant cell growth and artemisinin biosynthesize during A . annua cell culture inorder to choose the metabolic regulation signals which promote cell growth and artemisinin biosynthesize, and determime A. annua cell self-regulate patten during the synthesize of artemisinin by analysing cell's appearances in respond to metabolic regulation signals.Callus was formed whenleaf explant of A. annua were cultured on N6 medium with 1.0mg/l 6-BA and 1.2mg/lNAA,and thenit wasremoved to N6 medium with 0.5mg/l 6-BA and 0.05mg/l NAA for proliferation. This callus could be kept in 04℃ refrigerator for 4 weeks, its revival rate was 80%. The methodswould assure a constant supply the plant material for investigative purpose. The conditions of a two-step culture system were determined to produce artemisinin by A. annua cell culture. First, the callus cells (inoculation mass is 60g.fw/l)...
