| Objective:This article's studying objective is to explain Qing Dynasty famous doctor Zheng Shouquan's TCM theory foundation of using hot herbs, and his original view on TCM theory involved, which complement the studying of Zheng's academic ideology and clinical experience, and can help us carry on it and use hot herbs correctly. All of this can promote the academic and clinical TCM.Method:Mainly depending on documents'annotation and explaination, this article is to explain Zheng's original views such foundational theories as Yin-Yang and Five Elements, and Zheng's ideas of etiology and pathogenesis. By ways of statistical analysis, diseases, symptom, patterns of syndrome, therapies and prescriptions are summarized by the numbers in Zheng's Yi Li Zhen Chuan and Yi Fa Yuan Tong. On the basis of data, Zheng's clinical range of diagnosis and treatment is analyzed, which strive to reflect Zheng's knowledge structure in academic culture of TCM, and can explain why Zheng promoted use hot herbs and was good at it. The study above can clear up some thought and define our research direction that Warm-recuperation school's doctor'academic experience is studied and carried on better.Result:Through the main line of Zheng's using hot herbs'experience, the academic experience in the two books is studied totally Yi Li Zhen Chuan and Yi Fa Yuan Tong. On the basis of explaination of the ideas of physiology and pathology in Yin-Yang and Five Elements,363 diseases and symptoms,361 types of syndrom,274 therapies and 128 priscriptions are studied completely and by the numbers in Zheng's two books, which stresses on Zheng's essentials of diagnosis, principals of treatment and mental cultivation methods to deficiency yang syndrome. In the above study, this article not only highly appreciate Zheng's original ideas in Yin-Yang and Five Elements, but also point out his bias and self-contradiction objectively.Conclusion:Zheng's diagnosis to all diseases totally stressed on synthesis of the four diagnostic methods without excepting deficiency yang syndrome, especially stressed on evaluating body fluid's prosperity and decline, pulse's dynamic state correctly. Treatment's establishing, prescription's composing and drug's applying accorded to syndrome differentiation without excepting deficiency yang syndrome's treatment. Zheng neither believed all kinds of diseases are deficiency yang syndrome in spite of the principal of differentiation, nor was a academic extremist who treated all kinds of diseases as deficiency yang syndrome. Zheng's etiology of deficiency yang syndrome had breaking siginificance. His stessing on yang's explaination not only respected the tradition, but had himself original ideas. Zheng's etiology of deficiency of Yang were innovative significance while the thought of stressing Yang not only respected tradition, but also had his own original views. He stressed Yang of kidney and heart, and its own clinical meaning with the relationship between them, and had original views on heart-kidney imbalance, the helm function of spleen & stomach, and the academic view that earth can hide fire. Although Zheng had views of bias and self-contradiction, wholly Zheng's theory'cilture on TCM was deep and comprehensive. Zheng had extreme words in promoting to use hot herbs, but his objective was to correct the academic thoughts that the deficiency yang syndrome was seen, but wasn't known, or known but dared not to treat, which was for correcting treatment that based on the root, and cold drugs abuse and mistake use. In a word, Zheng was definite a famous doctor who stressed on yang and restrained yin, and was good at treat deficiency yang syndrome by using of hot herbs, but he was not extremist who only knew deficiency yang syndrome. Nowadays when study and carry on Zheng's academic thoughts and clinical experience, we should be dialectic and objective, can't be illiberal, which can prevent to come into academic wimax from cold herbs abuse to hot herbs abuse.
