In recent years, both home and abroad have entered the period of high crisis, and sudden catastrophic events have become a global issue, which not only threatened the safety of people's life and property and the stability of the society, but also caused great mental trauma to people. Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a serious mental illness which occurs of high frequency. In recent years, various types of serious coalmine disasters occurred in China frequently, causing serious repercussions to the people's life and production. Studying the PTSD ON the coalminers will not only enrich the theory on the disaster psychology, counseling psychology, health psychology, psychological theories on stress, but also promote physical and mental health of coalminers, improving the quality of their life. What's more, it has important theoretical and practical guidance value of providing an effective psychological theory for all types of emergencies or disaster events. In order to study the coalminers'PTSD in the mine disasters, firstly, this paper made detailed theoretical research and literature review; then, this paper made a systematic review about the concepts and theories, occurrence and characteristics, influence factors and evaluation, psychological intervention and treatment, the problems in the research and related research of the PTSD in emergency disaster events in China, and the prospect of future research. What's more, this paper also analyzed the guiding significance of PTSD to the theory research and practice of improving miners'psychosomatic health. Basing on that, this paper conducted a series of empirical research which took the coalminers as the inspection object. The main conclusions are as following:1. After 13 months of Hegang coalmine disasters, the incidence of positive PTSD symptoms of overall rescued miners is 19.64%. 2.PTSD symptoms of the rescued miners are significantly different in terms of the demographic variables. The PTSD-positive rate increases with the increase of the age. The older is, the higher the PTSD-positive rate will be. And the more serious casualties are and the nearer they are to the site of the incident, the higher the PCL-C scores for rescued miners will be and more PTSD symptoms will they have. Mines who have seen others'death have more significant PTSD symptoms than the mines who haven't seen others'death; mines who got traumatic injury in the coalmine disasters have obviously higher PTSD symptoms than the mines who haven't got traumatic injury in the coalmine disasters; mines who need a holiday to restore to work have more significant PTSD symptoms than the mines who don't need a holiday to resume work.3.The trauma group experienced the trauma of the event are strikingly different from the compared group who have not experienced the trauma of the event in psychological conditions. (1)In the PCL-C scores, the trauma group has higher scores on the alert of the significant than the compared group. (2)In the SCL-90 scores, the trauma group has higher scores on summarization, depression, anxiety, hostility, terror, the total score than the compared miners. (3)In the characteristics of personality, the trauma group has higher scores on psychotics-superego function than the compared group. (4)In the social support scale scores, the trauma group has an objective higher score on the objective support than the compared group. (5)In the simplified coping style questionnaire scores, the trauma group has higher scores on the rationalization, self-blame and remorse than the compared group. (6)In the sleeping quality aspect, the trauma group has an objective higher score on the sleep disorder and the use of sleep medication than the compared group. The above research shows that the mental quantity for the trauma group is much worse than the ordinary group, which is far from being satisfactory. The research also warns all walks of life , particularly the administrative departments that they should increase their care and help to the trauma group and provide mental guidance to them, thus improving the mental health of the miners .4. The research shows that miners who have experienced the trauma will not certainly have the PTSD symptoms, some other factors including social support, coping style and personality, will effect the consequence of PTSD. Multiple regression analysis shows that such factors as: neuroticisms-stability, extraversion-introversion, self-blame, avoidance, anxiety, phobia, paranoid, daytime dysfunction, use of sleep medication and sleep disorders are all included. And there is a high correlation between the negative incidence of coalmine disasters resulted from those factors and the positive symptoms of PTSD.
