A Study On The Distinguishing Characteristics Of Tcm Medications And Methods For The Treatment Of Sjogren's Syndrome

Objective:This is a study that summarizes the treatment of Sjogren's syndrome utilizing the distinguishing characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine medications and methods.Method:The study statistically gathered and summarized the distinguishing characteristics of the prescriptions and methods of108cases of Sjogren's Syndrome patients. The medical records were collated from the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology of the affiliated hospital of the Nanjing Traditional Chinese Medicine University. From all the cases received in its entirety and classifying according to syndrome type, a detailed statistical analysis was conducted on and the Chinese medicines used according to their natural and medicinal properties, flavors, meridian tropism. efficacy, and pharmacological effects. Further statistical analysis was conducted on the medicines that were utilized with more frequency and the methods employed were also summarized.Results:The comparative analysis of the statistical results of this study brought to light that given varying types of Sjogren's Syndrome, the medications used, their natural and medicinal properties, their meridian tropism, were also different. The analysis showed that in the course of pathological changes of the illness, the medications used were significantly different. Reanalyzing the classification of the efficacy of the medicines, there was strong emphasis on each type of medication. However overall, the medications prescribed were mainly based on nourishing yin and moistening dryness, heat detoxification, nourishing the liver&kidney meridians, analgesics and painkillers. The data results indicated that the methods of treating Sjogren's Syndrome should take the principles of asthenia-tonification.The effect of the medicine used in the sample were mainly in use of clearing heat and removing toxicity. nourishing the liver&kidney meridians,and also in use of removing obstruction in channels to relieve pain, clearing wind-damp. The property of the medicine used in the sample were mainly mild, cold and a little cold.In consideration of the property of the medicine is sunmmarized by the effect the the human reaction,it's the equivalent of the property of the disease.The taste of171medicines used in the samples were mainly sweet,bitter and acrid.The sweet medicines can used in tonification,reviving and harmonizing,the bitter medicines can used in diarrhea,and the acrid medicines can be used in promoting the circulation of qi, dispersing the internal heat with sudorifics and promoting circulation of blood.In this study,the samples were classified into6types,the dryness invading the lung can nourish yin and moisten the lung and dispel wind and heat,the yin deficiency of spleen and stomach can regulate qi-flowing for strengthen the spleen.clear the heat and cool the blood, the deficiency of both qi and yin can promote production of body fluid.nourish the lung, tonify the stomach and promote the fluid,the deficiency of both qi and yang can tonify qi,warm yang, activate spleen-energy, promote the secretion of saliva or body fluid, clear wind-damp, relax bowel, induce diuresis for treat strangurtia, remove nebula and remove edema.All these results provided the ways to treat Sjogren's Syndrome.
