By means of DME study method, this thesis involves analyzing and dealing with the high iisk factors and clinical syndrome types of threatened apoplexy according to relatively large sample book of threatened apoplexy syndrome data so as to study the de- velopmental law and pathogenic mechanism of apoplexy. The result indicates that the at- tack of threatened apoplexy is closely related to many high rish factors such as old and infirm, constitution being deficiency of Yin leading to hyperactivity of Yang, in-itability, overwork, indulgence in a richly fatty and sweet diet, smoking and drinking etc. ,which has remarkable specificity and is clinically incarnated in fire, heat, phlegm and blood stasis. Based on the above, consulting the ancient and modern docunients,the thesis ex- pounds systematically the theoiy of eatoxin causing apoplexy?,considering that the endogenous heat ?toxin is the key pathogen of apoplexy since it has close relationship with the occurance and development of the disease. The pathogenic fire, phlegm, blood stasis accumulates so much as to produce heat ?toxin damaging the brain and bringing on apoplexy, which is just the key pathogenesis of the disease. As far as the clinical treatment is concerned, clearing away heat ?toxin pathogen is the most important of all. By this treatment method is meant stopping the source of heat ?toxin by clearing away heat and reducing fire, eliminating heat - toxin by decreasing and discharging toxin as well as breaking off the arms of heat - toxin by removing phlegm and promoting blood circulation. In the light of the rule wise doctor should prevent and treat before the occurance of disease?, Naoning Kang granule, which is fomiulated to focus on ciearing away heat ?toxin, is verified to treat threatened apoplexy syndrome. The results show that the total effective rate of the verifying group is higher than that of the control group. One year later, the apoplexy incidence of the former is markedly lower than that of the latter. The former is also superior to the latter on improving the patients?blood lipid, blood sugar, endothelial function of blood vessel (El? , NO) and microcirculation of nail fold etc.. Threatened apoplexy syndrome involves TIA in modern medicine. Having imitated successfully the rat models suffering from TIA,the research observes the phannacologi- cal effect of Naoning Kang. The results suggest that it can significantly inhibit platelet aggregation, relieve enpema,lower the rate TXB2/6 ?keto ?PGF1a, improve the rate U/NO, relieve the neurotoxicity of NO, regulate the state of cerebrovascular dias- tole and contraction, increase the activity of SOD in the b,lower the level of MDA, reinforce the antioxidation ability, decrease the content of TNF in blood, and inhibit the gene expression of c ?fos mRNA as well. The observation of morphology and ultrastmc- ture also proves the protective effect of Naoning Kang on neuron. To sum up, the method of clearing away heat ?toxin, applied to prevent and treat threatened apoplexy syn- drotne s greatly supported and testified in the animal experiments.
