| Influenza is a kind of acute virus respiratory tract contagious disease, which is seriously harm to human health. Now about ten percent of the whole wotld people get influenza every year. Influenza mainly affect old people and the people who have chronic diseases, such as COPD, asthma, heart disease, diabetes, et al. Especially influenza leads to a very high incidence rate and death rate in old people. First, this study summarizes the diretor's clinical experience of treatment in adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection. This study asle includes clinical application of Chinese medicinal herbs in treatment of adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection, and the studies of clinical observation of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule in treating adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection.The summation includes the director's experience of the clinical application of plumule herbs and the compatible application of Malt and Human Placenta. In this part, a typical case is also given.The formula of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule is one of well proved clinical recipes of the director's. It's believed that there are too many original substances of life in plumule herbs, which can protect and promote people's health with their strong motive power of growth and development. On the basis of reading both historical and nowadays documents, the author gives a summary about etiolgy, pathology, prophylaxis, treatment of adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection in TCM. In the clinical observation part, thirty-one cases have been observed. The results indicate that Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule has a very good effect on deceasing numbers of times of adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection.In the study of expirement part, it includes that 1. Protectin of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to mice with influenza A infected. 2. Effect of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to the index number of lung and the viral titers of lung of mice with influenza A infected. 3. Effect of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to spleen lymph cells profile of mice with influenza A infected. 4. Effect of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to activitis of NK cells of mice with influenza A infected. 5. Effect of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to the level of blood cytokine IL-2 and TNF-αof mice with influenza A infected. 6. Effect of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to the level of blood cytokine IFN-γ and IL-10 of mice with influenza A infected. 7. Effect of Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule to the pathology of lung of mice with influenza A infected. It concludes that 1. Proportion between male and female is closely 1:1 in the people who have the disease of adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection. Age beteen 30 to 69 is highest to get adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection. 2. Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule can prevention and cure adult repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection, and can decrease times of repeatedly upper respiratory tract infection. 3. Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule can protect mice with influenza A infected, through raising the rate of survival of mice of with influenza A infected, and extend the survival time of mice with influenza A infected. 4. Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule can reduce lung pathology of mice with influenza A infected, reduce the viral titers of lung of mice with influenza A infected. 5. Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule can improve the activity of NK cell in mice with influenza A infected. 6. The function of Th cell in mice with influenza A infected is lower than normal mice. Placenta-bud Nourishing Capsule can improve the function of Th cell by raising the produce of Th1 cells type I cytokines IL-2, IFN-γ, and Th2 cells type II cytokines IL-10. 7. Though these experiments, it can conclude that Chinese herbs and formulas which can strengthen spleen and kidney may have the function of resisting influenza virus, but this needs to study deeply and extensively in this field, so that more experiment results can be provided.
