Part OneThe design of speech recognition vacabulary test for children of Mandarin ChinesePurpose: With the flourish of cochlear implants in our country, speech recognition material that conforms to the charactrers of Mandarin Chinese is in need. With a appropriate speech recognition test, we can identify good cochlear implants candidacy and evaluate the effects of cochlear implant. Howeere, the development of speech recognition test in our country is lagged, especially of the test for children. In the present study, our purpose is to design an open-set molosyllyble word lists and a picture identification close-set word lists for mandarin children. Methods: According to the criterion of designation of speech perception test for children, the lists must accord with the phonetic composition. We first analyzed the phonetic composition in madarin nursery rhyme and storiette for children. then choose familiar monosyllyble words for children. In this case, we design a phonetic balanced 50-monosyllable word lists. Meanwhile, we design a picture identification close-set monosyllable word list with the same phonemes. Result: According to the criterion of designation of speech recognition test, an appropriate open-set and a close-set monosyllyble word list have been designed. Based on the analysis of variance, there have no significant difference in inter-list difficulty in the open-set word lists and close-set word lists, respectively. Conclusion: We have designed an open-set and a close-set monosyllyble word list for Mandarin-speaking children which can replaced each other.
