Objective: To observe the result of the treatment of acupuncture and moxibustion for the periphery facial nerve paralysis (PFNP) and to discuss its theory and the mechanism of effect.Method: In this study, we choice 79 patients from Acupuncture and Moxibustion Dept. of Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Traditional Medicine who were treated by acupuncture and moxibustion and also choice 50 patients from the First Hospital of Nanhua University were treated by western medicine. So we separated those patients into two groups one is treatment group, the other is comparison group. The patients were throughly under clinical observation before and after treatment. Conclusion: This topic research indicates that, the acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for the periphery facial nerve paralysis (PFNP) can obtain a better clinical curative effect compared to the western medicine treatment, therefore the acupuncture and moxibustion can be used as an excellent method for the treatment of periphery facial nerve paralysis (PFNP) as it can provide another choice for the periphery facial nerve paralysis (PFNP) patients.
