Objectives:It has drawn special attention to the safety of taking medicine during the pregnant and lactation periods. However, at present, there is no classification of medicine for this special period and no any research report related developmental toxicity of Chinese medicine compound. Thus, the subject attempts to study developmental toxicity of lactation of rodents administrated the classical compound Tongru Dan.Methods:Related methods are as follows:mammal rodents pregnant rats were given Tongru Dan from the beginning of implantation behind the mating and continuous administration until weaning-all these design as the administration group, and control group only given solvent. The experimental results can be drawn by observing and comparing F1 generation rats'weight, food intake, growth and development indicators, target of reflecting the development, target of behavior and reproductive function. Results:In the pregnancy rate, average pregnancy-way, the number of average litter size, offspring sex ratio, stillbirth rate of rats, F1 generation of rats weight gain in the entire lactation, weight changes after weaning; growth and development signs (the target time of auricle isolation, the eruption of incisors, eyes open, expanding ear, the developmental fur);development of reflective markers (the target time of plane roll and righting reflex, air roll and righting reflex, auditory reflex shock, negative geotaxis reflex, swimming ability); sophisticated logo of reproductive function (the target time of decreased testes, preputial separation, the vagina open); the pregnancy rate of F1 generation female rats after mating, the average number of implantation-all these above mentioned, compared with three dose groups-Tongru Dan 60g/kg,20g/kg,6.7g/kg-and control group, are no abnormal, and there is no significant difference in the dose group (P> 0.05).Conclusions:The pregnant rats named Sprague-Dawley and reached the health age of pregnancy and administrated the Tongru Dan, their level of childbirth, lactation, the growth and development of F1 generation etc. reached 60g/kg that is the greatest but no damage one-all these conclusions obtained on the basis of conditions determined by our self.
