The monograph "Medical Synopsis of the Golden Chamber" (MSGC) was written in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Its text is concise and its meaning confound. Although there are more than one thousand versions of explanation, their views are distinct. "Prescriptions based upon syndromes treatment system" (PBSTS) in the monograph needs investigation from multi-dimensions and multi-angles. We can investigate it not only from traditional Chinese culture, but also in the global culture background. Many disciplines can be introduced to the investigation, especially logic. Logic is listed as the very first within all disciplines by "Encyclopaedia Britannica". A P BSTS will be built using the scientific logical method.1.Purpose1) Build essential axiom set for PBSTS.2) Build logical starting point for PBSTS.3) Build basic concepts for PBSTS.4) Build basic forms for PBSTS proposition.5) Investigate the treatment induction form for PBSTS.6) Investigate PBSTS from dynamic epistemic logic perspective7) Investigate PBSTS from paraconsistent propositional logic perspective2.Method1) Build essential axiom set for PBSTS using logic method.2) Choose logical starting point according to three essential characteristics from Hegel3) Build basic concepts for PBSTS4) Set basic forms for PBSTS proposition based on the analysis of all structures in the monograph5) Investigate PBSTS from dynamic epistemic logic perspective. The relation between prescription and syndromes can be viewed as the dynamic relations between physicians and Traditional Chinese doctor(TCM). We can interpret the text about prescription and syndrome using dynamic epistemic logic, reveal the dynamic and epistemic characteristics and key functions played by cognitive factors.6) I nvestigate PBSTS from paraconsistent propositional logic perspective. Paraconsistent propositional logic limits the applicable scope of law of contradiction using various ways. It prevents contradiction from hurting the whole theoretical system after limiting the contradiction. We can investigate the contradiction and special relationship between clauses using paraconsistent propositional logic perspective.3.Result1) Build essential axiom set for PBSTS. There are five axioms in the set.i. First axiom:Heaven and Man-there is correspondence between human body and natural environment.ii. Second axiom:Holistic view.iii.Third axiom:Physical view-the primordial of Qi of the five viscera circulatures s moothly.iv. Fourth axiom:Disease concept-the primordial of Qi of the five viscera don't circulatures smoothly.v. Fifth axiom:Therapy of concept-circulatures smoothly the primordial of Qi.2) B uild logical starting point for PBSTS. The development of PBSTS can be shown with the following diagram:"Shen Nong's Herbal Classic"→" the Law of the Soup and Broth"→" Treatise on Febrile Diseases" and MSGCSpring and Autumn and Warring States periods (770 B.C.-221 B.C.)→Western Han Dynasty(206 B.C.-A.D.24)→Eastern Han Dynasty(A.D.25-A.D.220)3) B uild basic concepts for PBSTS. The system is composed of three basic concepts of the "prescriptions based upon syndromes", "analogous prescriptions based upon syndromes" and "unitary prescription based upon syndromes". The "compound prescriptions based upon syndromes" means the combination of "unitary prescription based upon syndromes". The "compound prescriptions based upon syndromes" can fatherly be classified and form the novel "analogous compound prescriptions based upon syndromes", and the "compound prescriptions based upon syndromes" and the "analogous compound prescriptions based upon syndromes" can be combined and set up the novel "system of therapeutics according to prescription based upon syndromes".4) B uild basic forms for PBSTS proposition:list all conditional clause in MSGC, for example, "if... else...", "if...so...", "if...,...". The contents of hypothetical proposition and hypothetical reasoning include s ufficient condition hypothetical proposition, necessary condition hypothetical proposition, necessary and sufficient condition hypothetical proposition, sufficient condition hypothetical reasoning, necessary condition hypothetical reasoning, necessary and sufficient condition hypothetical reasoning, hypothetical reasoning chain and hypothetical reasoning translocation.5) I nvestigate the treatment induction form for PBSTS. The basic form of proposition in MSGC is "if there is some syndrome, there will be some prescription". According to The reasoning rule for classic conditional proposition, modus ponens can be affirming the consequent. We need to introduce a reasoning rule (MP):from A→B and A, B can be derived. We can assume A means syndromes, B means prescription, from A→B means the entailment relationship between syndromes and prescription. If we already know the relationship between A and B, if we know A now, B can be derived consequently.6) Investigate PBSTS from dynamic epistemic logic perspective. Dynamic epistemic process is a multi-agent system. The agents in the system are TCM and patients. TCM knows nothing about patients'syndromes. TCM can get various facts about patients' syndromes through inspection, listening and smelling examination, inquiry and palpation. This is a process of accumulating information. It is achieved through the interaction between two agents. The interaction includes information update, the order of the steps, the choice of the steps and etc. This provides a new angel for TCM treatment methods and processes.7) Investigate PBSTS from paraconsistent propositional logic perspective. There are many uncommon syndromes in the clauses of MSGC. Sometimes it is key to cure the disease smoothly if noting these uncommon syndromes. Hope TCM can give special notice to uncommon syndromes in clinical treatment through the investigation of paraconsistent propositional logic.4.ConclusionThis thesis investigates the contents of PBSTS in MSGC from logic concepts. There are two parts:classical logic and non-classical logic. The parts about basic forms and treatment induction form belongs to classical logic. The two parts about investigating MSGC from and perspectives belongs to non-classical logic.
