The research of "The Book of Songs" began with "Mao Shi", until "Zheng Jian", it was improved gradually and became a unique system which studied "The Book of Songs" by the theory of Mao Shi Zheng Jian. It also involved in the theory of poetry in the studying writings of Mao Shi Zheng Jian.This paper is divided into 5 parts.The first chapter "Mao Shi" and the theory of poetics of "Mao Shi" From the name of "Mao Shi Gu Xun Zhuan", "Gu", "Xun", "Zhuan" are three methods of exegesis. By the three methods, one can define the fundamental orientation of "Mao Shi" that explains the meaning of classical language and is also involved in some moral principles. In "Mao Shi", the way of exegesis and the analysis of the thoughts of moral principles define the thoughts of exegetical study and demonstration more specifically. This is the main reason for the popularity of "Mao Shi" and the decline of other three schools of poetry. "Mao Shi" is also a contribution to the establishment of poetic theory that makes "Mao Shi Xu" which is derived from the thoughts of literature and art of the Confucian School in the period of Pre-Qin set up the literature classics beyond the classics of rites and music. The theory of emotions and ambitions, the theory of six-moral and the theory of satire and remonstrance, in "Mao Shi Xu", have different sources and processes of development, and play an important role for the creation of literature and the poetic theory.The second chapter The academic orientation and paragon meaning of "Zheng Jian" "Zheng Jian" was written in the alternated times. It contains the merits of each school and adheres to the essentials of classical learning. It also has an important paragon meaning in the fields of exegesis, moral principles and poetic theory. From then on, Mao Shi Zheng Jian came into the history as the complete characteristics of poetry, and began to make the various explanations by the literator's writings. The classical learning tradition of exegetical study and demonstration which was established by Mao Shi Zheng Jian was hereditary.The third chapter "Mao Shi Zheng Yi" and the succession and promotion of the research of "The Book of Songs" in Han dynasty. Zheng Yingda carries forward the way of Mao Shi Zheng Jian to explain "The Book of Songs". The theory of Zheng Yingda's was founded after the Wang Xuezheng's theory and the argument between the school of southern and northern. It includes excellent writings of the research of "The Book of Songs" between Han dynasty and Wei dynasty. "Mao Shi Zheng Yi" follows the principle of noting without changing the former explanations, and keeps the authority of Mao Shi Zheng Jian. "Mao Shi Zheng Yi" also keeps the mild thoughts of Confucian and develops the explanation of "Zheng Jian".The forth chapter Mao Shi Zheng Jian and the doubt thoughts of the research of "The Book of Songs" in Song dynasty It's the first time that Mao Shi Zheng Jian is strongly doubted in the filed of researching "The Book of Songs" in Song dynasty. "Mao Shi Zheng Jian" and "Mao Shi Xu" have to face to the challenge from different aspects. From the succession of "The Book of Songs", in Song dynasty, the research of "The Book of Songs" couldn't totally get rid of Mao Shi Zheng Jian. Not only the school of completely doubt but also the school of tradition, their writings of "The Book of Songs" presents Mao Shi Zheng Jian's thoughts of poem. The Book of Songs is carried forward by analyzing the text, and succeeds to continue the exegetical study and demonstration. Undoubtedly, the research of the book of songs in Song dynasty still had drawbacks and gradually became worse until Yuan and Ming dynasty. The definition of the school of Qian Jia is confused. Its essential is the researching method of exegetical study and demonstration since Qing dynasty, with the characters of preciseness, plain and making decisions on evidences. The school of Qian Jia explored the essentials by Mao Shi Zheng Jian, and had a close connection. The researching of "The Book of Songs" by Qian Jia used the method of Mao Shi Zheng Jian not only as an example but also influenced on it, even beyond it. This is a must owned by Qian Jia which is developed after the researching of "The Book of Songs" in Han and Song dynasty, and has more widely researching field and scientific researching method than Mao Shi Zheng Jian. Since then the classical learning of "The Book of Songs" got to the climax. After that, the school of Qian Jia became to decline.Other Discussions Mao Shi Zheng Jian and modern school of "The Book of Songs" The classical school of "The Book of Songs" is gradually changed into modern school in the new era. Wang Guowei is contribution to the succession of classical school of "The Book of Songs". Meanwhile, he is also play an important role in the transition period. The question, in ancient time, objectively promotes the scholars to think deeply, and has great influence on the modern school of "The Book of Songs". By the interpretation of Lu Xun, the modern school of "The Book of Songs" is established.
