Research On The Allusion Forms In Stone Inscriptions From Wei, Jin, Southern And Northern Dynasties To Sui Tang And Five Dynasties

This dissertation fills a vacancy on cohort study of Ancient Chinese and the development of Chinese Characters. We take quantitative study methods based on stone inscriptions database in our research. In this dissertation, we study the origin, variant forms and meanings of Allusion Forms in stone inscriptions dated from Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui, Tang and Five dynasties. The dissertation consists of five parts.Firstly, research corpus.In this dissertation, we select 582allusion forms and 2013 examples from these Stone Inscriptions from Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui, Tang and Five dynasties all together. These examples are numbered in order and arranged in time.Secondly, terms.We redefine the allusion, allusion forms, the variant forms, variant groups and the original document of these allusions.Thirdly, main contents.In this part, we talks and definite the allusions, analyzing the relationship between the variant forms and their groups; discussing the forms of allusion variant in stone inscriptions, the reasons of those variants, characteristics and the systematical research on these allusion forms variants; analyzing the different meanings and the relations of the meanings of these allusions; talking about the forming characteristics and structural features of these allusions; studying the significance of these allusions in stone inscriptions from Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern dynasties to Su, Tang and Five dynasties.Fourthly, detailed rules and regulations.In this part, we try to talk about the allusion forms and the detailed regulations of selecting these variants, the discrimination rules of selecting the allusion forms which has multi-origins in a reasonable way.Fifthly, compilation of dictionaries and reference books.We make several supplements of these allusions forms from stone inscriptions in dictionaries and reference books, bringing forward some examples of these allusion forms in dictionaries.The related research of this dissertation has a significant meaning on the identification and study of these stone materials.It also has a historical and cultural meaning as well. It will fill a vacancy on the development and its rules of Chinese Characters and Words in medieval times. It will be useful for the consummate of related dictionaries and reference books.
