Regarding He Qifang's literary thoughts as the research subject, this thesis tries to investigate the constructiveness and contradictoriness of He Qifang's literary thoughts from the angle of wholeness, equates literary thoughts of He Qifang's creative writings and the ones of his literature criticism editions as the theoretical cornerstone of He Qifang's literary thoughts. Deep into the social modern context of literary thoughts formation, the thesis has analyzed the contradiction of art pursuit and political claim, conflict of poetic temperament and recognition and identity of the mainstream critic's role, dispute of previous ego and present ego, little ego and great ego. Also it analyzes the changes of Chinese traditional intellectuals'personality in culture and the cultural identity of intellectuals after China's foundation, the mental cult of Mao Zedong's leadership, character endowment, and illustrates the contradictoriness of He Qifang's literary thoughts and the causes from multi-dimensions.This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One is the introduction, it specifies the significance of choosing this topic, cards the general survey of the study of He Qifang, expounds the research value, study method and innovation point. This thesis puts He Qifang in the certain social and cultural condition at that time comparing to some critics in power and highlights the significance and research value of He Qifang. Confronting the constructiveness and contradictoriness of his literary theory is the real resolved problem of the study of He Qifang, also the starting point and the end result of the selected subjects. Through the general survey and thorough skim of the global features of the study of He Qifang, there is still some space worthy of being discussed and digged further. With a view to the concept of integrity and research systemically, it lays emphasis on the analysis of the factors of theory and practice, criticism and creation, individual and era, diachronie and synchronie, personality and community, inheritance and transcendency, contribution and limitation, origin and performance, dig the abundant connotation and typical importance of He Qifang's literary thoughts.In Chapter Two, it cards the proper development arrangement of He Qifang's literary thoughts from the angle of diacronie. However, He Qifang's literary criticism explored the literary issue in the scope of literature, and he puts forward the successful academic view of "Gong ming" in the relative relaxing context. Zhou Yang keeps in step with policies, treats literature and art as the vane and barometer of politic. To establish authority in the circle of literature and art by interpreting Mao Zedong's literature and art thoughts, and gironde policy, lash the paganism. Of course, this thesis is not to obliterate Zhou Yang's theory contribution in reflecting the issues of humanism and others in the new period. It is to be regretted that He Qifang has passed away and he has not seen the spring of literature and art in the new period.Based on the complexity and contradictoriness of He Qifang's literary thought, this thesis starts with dimensional vision of sociology, genetics, psychology, philosophy and culturology, adopts many research methods to investigate synchronously, such as the concrete methods of texts close reading, documentation method, analytical method, synthesis, comparison method,_dialectical logical approach. It carries out omnibearing and dimensional study and exploration of He Qifang's literary thoughts. It grasps the contribution and limitation of He Qifang's literary thoughts in the objective and complete way, tries to speak on good grounds and say with certainty to give instructive discussions, and enriches theory space of study on He Qifang.
