The late Qing Dynasty, Chinese art has meaning and form transformation. Creation of artists, acceptance of audiences and forms of art, as well as aesthetic consciousness of Chinese contemporary art are changing, and the change completely rely on the establishment and promotion of art system, of which both has positive guiding role, and the limited function to modern art. The abolished imperial examination with the created new art education, the change of artists'identities and the founding of organizations, the rise of mass media and the dissemination way change have provided the possibilities of the birth of realistic consciousness, which has become the important background and supportive strength of Chinese art transition. Modern art system and the western painting techniques, together with thoughts and culture had been introduced into China almost in one synchronized process. As a kind of cradle for new thoughts and new concepts, art system constantly changed and created a modern art discourse system through its binding power.In most people's consciousness, artists totally controlled the development of modern art. But as a matter of fact, even the artists themselves, also needed to be recognized as products within such system. Cultivated within the western value system, the realistic aesthetic vision was able to subvert the thousands of years of painting and calligraphy orthodox position, is not simply because of all groups of artists' free choices. In order to unit modern Chinese art with its society, and to participate in the construction of modern culture, and constantly seek for and build up a set of effective rules and an active functioned system in society. Chinese art since the late Qing has integrated into the change of modern society and the reconstruction process of thoughts, and with the introduction of western thoughts and social changes, it continuously has changed in the ideas, forms and system of fine arts. The formation of the art system formed a set of mechanisms between art and society, art creation and acceptance, such as occupation artists, art clubs, art presses, art exhibitions and art criticism, they are all influential factors to restrict, guide and control of Chinese modern fine arts, art forms and aesthetic awareness. Art education system, communication system, art club system, art criticism system, constitute the important contents of the art system. And the art system guides and restricts the Chinese literati painting art soared beyond the personal spiritual imagination and monologue, marching towards life and social values, forming the novel realistic tradition with features of reality, life, popularization. Research on modern art system mainly asked how could the occupied mainstream realistic thoughts of arts in the twentieth century of China be created and formed? In the course of participation and construction of the realistic aesthetic consciousness, art system had what kind of positive effects and negative ones? This paper ranged from1902to1949, recognized the evolution of Chinese realistic consciousness as a clue, from the point of social transformation, targeted at different key points, and serval aspects to interactively force the realistic consciousness and the system together, in order to reveal the latent, intrinsic rules and relationships between the realistic consciousness and art system.This paper is divided into six parts. The introduction part, discusses in details about the academic value of this thesis, current research status and literature reviews, and the chain of thoughts in research work. Comparatively,"realistic" concept will be placed in different Chinese and Western cultures to inspect its connotation; The first chapter uses urban space, new institutions, public and social background as the basis, discusses the birth of contemporary art system, and from aspects of three systems, namely, education, organization and communication, observes the initial appearance of realistic consciousness. Then according to the development of realistic thought in China, divides the development of realistic consciousness into three following stages, the budding period, the experimental period and the period of integration, then, respectively describe the historical evolution of realistic consciousness connotation; From the aspect of education system, the second chapter discussed the development of realistic consciousness and study how the education system to inoculation realistic aesthetic view through arrangement of teaching material and examine system. The third chapter regards the modern art group as the leading role. As an important part of modern society, the development of western painting group influent the adjustment between the groups and its nation, and the change of intellectuals'knowledge structures. The fourth chapter puts the emphasis on the popularization of art's spread system and realistic consciousness. The foundation of press system and exhibition system in modern art system plays a key role in the process of popularizing realistic consciousness. The last part is conclusions. Based on the above, it states repeatedly that the chinese modern art system and realistic aesthetic awareness is in a course of integrowth.
