The history of modern Chinese aesthetic education occurred and developed along with the turbulent social environment and cultural development in contemporary China.It not only inherited the spiritual connotation of traditional Chinese aesthetic education,but also be influenced by Western aesthetic education thoughts.On the one hand,the Chinese scholars in the modern and contemporary times have extensively absorbed Western aesthetic education concepts and trends of aesthetic education,and at the same time,they have constructed their own aesthetic education system according to their own needs in the process of absorption and digestion.The research on the history of contemporary Chinese aesthetic education requires us to expand and move our horizons to contemporary aesthetic education systems and practices based on the clues of the Chinese aesthetic education concepts since modern and contemporary times.and theoretical history.In the summer of 1919,Li Shutong's disciples Wu Mengfei,Liu Zhiping,Feng Zikai,etc.,founded the first private art teacher training school in contemporary China at their own expense-Shanghai Art Normal School.In the process of specific education and teaching practices,they deeply felt that art education should not only be conducted through schools,but also through the approaches and power of society to spread aesthetic education and cultivate aesthetic education talents.They hope to use the form of community organizations to unite art educators from all over the country to exchange ideas and jointly promote art education.In November 1919,the faculties and staff from Shanghai Art Normal School,headed by Wu Mengfei,and the faculty of Patriotic Women's School established the first academic group of aesthetic education in contemporary China,which is for the translation,research and dissemination of aesthetic education concepts and theories.The "Chinese Aesthetic Education Association" is a well-known group that promotes the construction of the aesthetic education system and the development of aesthetic education practice.The "Chinese Aesthetic Education Association" was established,developed and continuously grown under a special historical environment.The practice and exploration of aesthetic education they made in important historical periods has a very rich and extensive connotation,which provides us with a comprehensive understanding of the history of contemporary Chinese aesthetic education.At the same time,it is also a valuable resource for us to understand the multiple aspects of contemporary Chinese aesthetic education history.This article uses the literature research method,textual research method,historicist research method,statistical analysis method and other research methods to achieve the following goals: First,investigate the historical opportunities and era background of the establishment of the "Chinese Aesthetic Education Association",restore the historical picture,and complete the historical narration of the “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”;Secondly,it explores how the “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”group focuses on the issue of “Aesthetic Education” as a carrier to carry out activities,and how to carry out theoretical research and build a platform for communication,and explores the common aspiration and interest pursuit of the “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”;The third part explains the practical exploration and interactive relationship of the "Chinese Aesthetic Education Association" in school aesthetic education,social aesthetic education,etc.;Finally,briefly summarize the historical experience and gains of the "Chinese Aesthetic Education Association" in the history of the spread of contemporary aesthetic education concept and theoretical construction,and provide useful thinking and enlightenment for the theoretical research and practical activities of current aesthetic education.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into five chapters,mainly including the following parts:The introduction mainly introduces the reason for topic selection of the paper;the value and significance of the research;the review of relevant academic results;the content,ideas and methods of the research,etc.The first chapter describes the research object: the “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” in the social and cultural transformation.This chapter first sorts out the spread and transformation of modern aesthetic education concepts,then analyzes the new aesthetic education concepts that blend in between China and the West,the enlightenment of western aesthetic education thoughts,and the discovery and inheritance of traditional Chinese aesthetic education thoughts.Secondly,it conducts a historical investigation on the reform of the school system and formation of aesthetic education mechanism,the generation of modern culture and art system and its aesthetic orientation.As a result,it was discovered that art education was a prominent and eye-catching new star in China's education circle at the beginning of the 20 th century.The country created a good environment for its development from the institutional level and made it legally effective.Finally,with the maturity of the above-mentioned external conditions and the rise of new cultural operations,“Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” was born.Through the inspection of the organization and operation mode of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”,it has explored and condensed its purpose and social influence.Through the above research,it is concluded that the rise and spread of aesthetic education in China since modern and contemporary times is not only shown as an event in the history of ideas,but also deeply wedged in the education and cultural practices of China at that time,and still has a profound impact on the theoretical research and practice of current aesthetic education.The second chapter is based on the research of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”,discussing its extension to the concept of contemporary Chinese aesthetic education from different dimensions such as depth,breadth,space expansion,and spiritual core.First of all,conduct research on the systemization of the concept of aesthetic education and theoretical construction on “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”,in order to explore its extension of modern aesthetic education concepts in depth and breadth.Secondly,do a systematic review of the journal of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”-Aesthetic Education magazine,striving to study the expansion of its aesthetic education theory and knowledge from the spatial dimension,so as to summarize the direction and spiritual core of the new moral aesthetic education,which are: publicized trend of thought,pragmatism and art education movement,as well as the proposition and pursuit of aesthetic education to save the country,the compatibility of Chinese and western,and the promotion of aesthetic education reform.The third chapter studies the school aesthetic education practice activities of the "China Aesthetic Education Association",emphasizing that aesthetic education runs through the whole process and all aspects of school education.First of all,given that“Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” is an aesthetic education organization established on the basis of Shanghai Art Normal School,and its main members are mostly school art teachers,the school has become the important platform for “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” to spread advanced,diverse and democratic educational concepts,and this has promoted the development of China's new aesthetic education.Secondly,by studying the teaching mode of the innovative aesthetic education curriculum of the“Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”,analyzing the characteristics of its curriculum that emphasizes both "skill" and "morality",the aesthetic education method that integrates "morality" and "art",and the means and strategies to improve the effectiveness of aesthetic education,which promote the development of the aesthetic education curriculum reform to achieve the purpose of disseminating and improving art education.Thirdly,to examine the practice of aesthetic education in the compilation of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” and sports textbooks,and to clarify the process of integrating their aesthetic education ideas and artistic skills into the textbooks.This chapter takes Feng Zikai and Enlightened Mandarin Textbook,Wu Mengfei and Harmony Syllabus and multiple music textbooks,Liu Zhiping and Music Curriculum Standard Outline;Hu Huaichen and the "New Textbook of Chinese Language" and other textbooks and monographs as examples to discuss their dissemination of aesthetic education concepts and truly realize the deep integration of art and education.The fourth chapter studies the social aesthetic education practice activities of the "China Aesthetic Education Association".This chapter firstly explains the special and key effects of social aesthetic education on the promotion of social progress and the conscious development of national consciousness,the improvement of the aesthetic level of aesthetic objects and receiving subjects from the macro level.Secondly,from the micro level,taking the seminars,summer schools and practical activities established by “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” as the research objects,summarizes the reasons why it cultivates excellent teachers and gathers artistic talents.The reasons are closely related to Chinese Aesthetic Education Association's members' high level,professionalism and influence.Finally,through the inspection of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”speeches,art exhibitions,participation in or establishment of art clubs and other forms of social aesthetic education practice activities,it demonstrates that the members of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” actively participate in the practice of social aesthetic education,and practice the ideal pursuit of aesthetic education,promoting national creativity and social civilization and progress.The fifth chapter analyzes and argue the causes and revelations of the retreat of the“Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”,reflects on the reasons of its rise and fall,and makes a historical evaluation of the efforts and contributions of the “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” in spreading the idea of aesthetic education and exploring aesthetic education practices.First,it analyzes and argues the reasons for the closing and withdrawal and revelations of the Chinese Aesthetic Education Association,and summarize the reasons and problems of the Chinese Aesthetic Education Association's own organizational and management difficulties,financial constraints,and the disconnect between the ideals of aesthetic education and social reality in the context of social unrest and instability.Secondly,the historical revelation of the aesthetic education practice of the Association is explored by sorting out and condensing the concept of aesthetic education and operation mechanism of “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association”.The conclusion part concludes the development trend and future path of modern aesthetic education in our country will continue to move towards practices through the investigation and reflection on the practical and institutionalized process of Chinese aesthetic education in modern and contemporary times.which will surely contribute to the cultivation of humanistic feelings,the shaping of national beliefs,and the cultivation of great characters by playing the important role of cultivating the roots and casting the soul,enlightening and moistening the heart.We should give full play to the important role of aesthetic education in cultivating roots,casting soul,enlightening wisdom and moistening heart,so as to have a far-reaching impact on the cultivation of humanistic feelings,shaping national beliefs and cultivating good character.This paper takes the birth background of the “Chinese Aesthetic Education Association” as a starting point,and examines and researches the process of its establishment,theoretical propositions,aesthetic education practices,operational overview,reflections on its dissolution,and historical revelations and others,and focuses on the practice and expansion of aesthetic education theories in its organ magazine Aesthetic Education.It is innovative in terms of research perspectives,research ideas and research methods in the study of aesthetic education theories and practices in Modern China.
