From the perspectives of narrative pattern construction, the Chinese historical novel in the first half of the20th century is researched in this article, the different narrative form historical novel's narrative time, structure,narrative discourse and the close contact with different political and culture ideology discourse.Except the abstract and the concluding remarks, there are five chapters in this article.The connotation and characteristic of historical novel of narrative form of traditional novels and the development of narrative in the first half of the20th century is studied in the abstract. These new developments include the instruction of western short stories, it brought narrative structure fundamental change of history stories; the translation of foreign history novels make writers out of narrative attached to historical biography,adhered to historical facts and entanglement in asthenia and sthenia; the history is newly narratived through the reference of western modern narrative method.The essential characteristic and significance in literature history of culture-reflective liberalism history novels is studied in chapter one. On the construction of narrative form, the western short stories experiences were generally referenced, the change to modern history novels narrative form is realized. This chapter selects relatively representative historical novels of cultural introspection written by Lu Xun and Kuo Mo-jo,to analyze the narrative psychology, and also selects Zhang Ai-ling and Shen Zu fen's novels, who are women writers and the rising stars of modern historical novels in culture exploration, to analyze the subversive narration of female identity in phallocentric historical context.Chapter two probes into the construction of narrative form for historical novel of human nature concern. In the first half of the20th century, the deep concern of human nature mainly launched from five parts. First, in20th century, from the inherent context of historical narration, the historical novels of Wu Jianren and Cai Dongfan made the narrative to depict historical figures in their true human nature. The second aspect is historical narration which makes re-interpretation through the fate of the ordinary people and explores human nature on the other side. The third aspect is the narrative exploration of historical novels in showing individual's subject value in historical existence and reflecting the modern main spirit of individuality. The forth aspect is the profound presentation of complex human nature, especially abnormal humanity repressed for years, in order to express the contemporary equality, democratic and liberty. This includes:Kuo Mo-jo dissected the nature of man using the knowledge of psychics, and Cai Yi, Li Tuo-zhi and Shi Zhe-cun showed the repressed complex human nature using the construction of personage's psychology and space, which made the truth and nature hided in historical texts to have the historical narration with modern observation. This chapter also takes historical novel called by Wu Zixu for example, to analyze its exploration through renarration for history stories for core spirit and worth criterion in moder life as well as the profound influence on human value existence and mental outlook made by age consciousness and social reform.The third chapter discusses narrative form and characteristics of historical novel in revolutionary context. This includes:the narrative characteristics of historical novels which are bourgeoisie reformists who advocated constitutional monarchy took the western capitalism countries' social revolutionary history as the resource and the deep reason for the insufficiency of narration is discussed; the narrative characteristics of Huang-xiao pei's The Art of War which is the representative of historical novels of bourgeois revolution faction and the history of literature value of this kind of narrative form; narrations construction of Mao Dun, Song Yun-bin and Meng-chao's historical novels under the guidance of the idea of proletariat revolution is discussed, whose figure symbol system, expression construction and narration discourse all show sharp features of revolutionary consciousness and influence profoundly the narrative of revolutionary historical novel in the second half of the20th century.Chapter4explore the narrative modality of historical novel in salvation context. Explore the agitation narrative of historical novel which take the foreign salvation history as narrative subject, and the narrative characteristics of historical novel whose theme are alien invasion. In the other side, explore narrative ideology characteristics of historical novel in salvation context, include symbol choosing of national integrity and personality trait, especially performance mode construction of national emotion and will. Specificly explore the narrative modality characteristics in the salvation historical novel of Zheng Zhenduo and Liao Mosha.Chapter5explore the narrative modality characteristics in political allegory historical novel. Explore political and culture background of novel in1930s and1940s, and unscramble the political attribute of writer. They need closely related at political image construction and reality political struggle, which have extremely strong utility. The novel narrative use narrative strategy of realizing political allegory, taking historical figures and events into specific political context, and extract political allegory events, characters and scenes, through coding, scheduling and interpretating, to constructing a new significance structure, performancing a certain political tendency and political connotation. To realize this kind of narrative, there are several specific strategies: purposive selectivity present of elements in the original historical context; Restructuring, rewriting and ficting with existed history facts to obey the subject need of political allegory; Take the historical novel as narrative structure of ironic comedy arrangement to form a common paradigm; Novel narrator interventional narrative through narrative sound to make narrative more metaphoric and interrelation.Conclusion part explores the gain in narrative of historical novel in the first hair of the20th century and the influence to narrative of historical novel in the second hair of the20th century.
