This thesis for the Doctorate is under professor Zhao Kui Fu抯 charge and written by the author. It deals with Zhan Guo literary Annals, one part of the studies of pre-Qin Literary Annals which is subsidized by the 1999抯 national social and scientific funds. It covers the seventy 梱ear literary annals from 353 B C to 283 B C .The content of the thesis can be divided into five parts. In the first part, the thesis makes the textual research and detailed analysis about the activities of thinkers and writers according to time. It reflects the spectacular of 揷ontention of a hundred schools of thought 揹uring the period. The thesis also makes the time list about those works with specific writing time and try to define the relatively specific time about those works with unclear writing time. In the second part, the thesis re-defines the nature and importance about the genuineness and writing time of the works widely consulting the research achievement and newly unearthed relics. In the third part, consulting ShiJi, Zhan Guo Ce, Zhan Guo Zong Heng Jia Shu and newest research achievements, the thesis makes the complete textual research and detailed analysis about the activities and works of 揨ong Heng Jia? to which were not attached enough importance in the history. In the fourth part, the thesis makes the textual research and detailed analysis about all the academic activities relating literary creation during this period. In the fifth part, the thesis makes the textual research and detailed analysis about the 揼roups of writers?during this period. The thesis makes a complete and summarized studies about literature, gives the brief account of the process of literary development, inquiries the characteristics and regularity of literature and sows us a all 梤ound and vivid picture about the literary situation during this period. In one word, The thesis provides the newest, the most detailed and most reliable materials for the possible breakthrough in the literary studies of this period.
