| The text have traced to the original forms of literature ?the myth and classified and studied it with expectation of opening up an unique angle and region, extracted from the thesis, of this kind of researching in order to explore the distinct divergences of in the spirit and themes of Chinese ?Western literature. The text have primarily reviewed Chinese early myth and Greece myth and reckoned the existence of the fundamentally different arrangement about the tragic ending in aborted and former system of mythology. Owing to the rising of Christianity and the concourse of Hellenisrn (mythology) with Hebraism (religion), the Western culture has hereupon arrived on the stratosphere of the consciousness of tragedy. The humanistic spirit, however, of the Hellenism (rooted in the myth), preserved in Christianism, has been all along confronted with the notion of the theology from Hebraism (the religion), and so the spirit of Western literature has been at all time shaking in the two poles, which results in the countless antithesis. Because of the influence of the closed farming mode in China, the center of gravity of the culture of Chinese society has in the first time dropped into the ethic standard governed by personalized politics, which results the interfusion of the myth and the legend about the Chinese antiquity and makes both of them sharply being historicization and ethicization. So the consciousness of tragedy in Chinese literature has been remaining on the mythical surface. It is also very difficult for Chinese literature to be awakening in the essential spirit of literature and to create all kinds of opposed literature trends, occuring repeatedly as Western literature, due to simultaneously worldly clearing to the Asia mode existing bitterly and spiritual yearning for the millenarian return. So it must be the consequence of the æ‡acking of varieties?on the theme of Chinese literature.
