In modern mainstream psychology, behaviorist psychology embodied none of the characteristics of multi-dimensions, and it also universalized its narrow findings. Following the "objective" orientation of inquiry by behaviorism, cognitive psychology keeps on pursuing the "truth" of human mind. The theory of "passive man" has been brought forth by the mechanistic scientific view. Mainstream psychology has got itself positioned in natural sciences, which is really a sad mistake. Philosophy turned to linguistics to rid itself from dilemma. In the beginning the generalization of semantic analysis formalizes the language, so to blur the self-referential characters of language. This is all because pragmatics has be neglected by semantic analysis. The use of intersubjectivity helps us to have a third alternative other than mere individuality and class-subject. Intersubjectivity presupposes the existence of more than dual subjects. Mediated by language, subjects form communicative community among themselves, and realize the communicative relatedness in speech acts. The subject-object bifurcation will be eliminated in the end, so that the notion of the epistemology will be understood in the identification and convention between subjects, hi the mainstream psychological inquiry, the work of human mind is situated in mere physical world, which is quite inadequate from the angle of discourse-oriented mental studies. Those hi Nature are real and subjected to causation, whereas people's conduct is subjective, and subjected to intentionally. Say, if causation produces physical world, the construction of social world is realized by symbolic systems of persons. The aim of the Second Cognitive Revolution marks a psychological discursive turn, which tries to bring back the traditional and common-sense idea that psychology is the study of active people, hi private or public contexts, using material and symbolic tools to accomplish all sorts of projects according to local standards of correctness. As shown by discursive psychology, human mind is nothing but a dynamic process embedded in a complex context of history, politics culture, society and interpersonal process, and moreover, "the meeting point of a range of structuring influences". Thus, it's not true to take mind as an organ of detemporalized and decontextudized intelligence. The present writer proposes a "prosthetics" for psychology. The idea gets the continuity of psychological history well preserved. It is true that repeated prosthetics over time may (will) produce a fresh look of a psychology under certain theory. And it is certain that the old look is only adequate to the past context, and the repaired one will surely be adequate to the present.
