Mr. Jin Yuelin is one of the most famous contcmporaiy philosopher and logicians in China. He rc-analyscd Chinese traditional philosophical concepts by means of logical analysis, and successfully constructed a Tao system through deduction. On He basis of cominonsense, he established a unique epistemological system by highly sophisticated technical means, which filled in he gaps in this field of Chinese philosophy. And he was one of the first logicians who imported mathematical logic into China. He advocated replacing traditional logic with mathematical logic, which pointed out a new direction in he research on logic in our country. Research into his philosophical and logical thoughts is very important to he development of modem philosophy and logic in China, But he attention we have paid to Mr Jin Yuelin is inadequate. This article attempts to provide an overview of his academic thoughts prior to 1949 by formulating his thought on 'truth'.In his unique theoretical system Mr. Jin Yuelin marked off the apodeictic world, natural world and nature, differentiated congenital knowledge, transcendental knowledge , disciplinary knowledge and a posteriori knowledge, and clarified necessity, original .certainty and accidental.The congenital knowledge is the knowledge which remains true whether there are corresponding experiences in the future or not. Mr Jin Yuelin held that only the knowledge about logic is innate. Logic demonstrates the rules which are inevitable. The transcendental knowledge means the knowledge which is true for the past, and cant be false for the future as long as there will be corresponding experiences. And the regular knowledge is the knowledge which is always true for the past, but will be true for the future as long as tie relevant experiences wont stop working in the future. It mainly concerns about natural rules. Both the transcendental knowledge and regular knowledge signify original rules. Whereas original rules indicated by the transcendental knowledge is the general principle which emphasizes the adequacy of experiences, the rule signified by the regular knowledge shows individual rules emphasizing the existence of relevant experiences, apodeictic world observes congenital principles, natural world transcendental principles, and nature the natural rules, a posteriori knowledge is the knowledge which is true for the past put will not necessarily be true for the future. And the general knowledge we get from experiences by inductive principle, for the most past, belongs to a posteriori knowledge.Mr. Jin Yuelin had principally written 3 masterpieces: Logic, Too Theory and Episiemology. Logic is a theoretical system about congenital knowledge and about necessity .Tao Theory a theoretical system about transcendental knowledge and about the theory of original, and Epistemology a theoretical system about disciplinary and a posteriori knowledge and about the problem of why disciplinary knowledge and a posteriori knowledge is possible.Mr. Jin Yuelin divided 'truth' into three different levels: Congenital 'truth', transcendental 'truth' and a posteriori 'truth'.Logic is concerned about congenital 'truth'. Mr Jin Yuelin believed that logic is true because its main concern is about apodeictic and apodeictic requires exhausting all of the possibilities. After differentiating logic and logical system, he indicated many drawbacks present in traditional deductive logic, and advocated replacing traditional logic with mathematical logic.Tao Theory is on transcendental 'truth'. In this book, by using deduction Mr Jin Yuelin deduced a series of basic concepts, definitions and propositions (mainly transcendental propositions. Such as "The things existing simultaneously in reality is consistent.') On the basis of these achievements he established the whole philosophical system. Tao Theory is an modern deductive metaphysical system established against the background of modem logic.Episiemology is about a posteriori 'truth'.
