| As the concept of measuring personal intelligence and wisdom, the existence of IQ has a history of near one hundred years, the studies of man to IQ also penetrate and comprehend step by step. In the early 1990s,as the concept of measuring personal emotional intelligence, EQ also set foot into the research field of vision. The posing of this concept greatly widens the field of vision of man, and frees man from the error area of only emphasizing intelligence elements. Theory and practice already confirm the studies to IQ and EQ greatly accelerate the cognition and practice. With the development of practice, man realizes will plays more and more important role in the cognition and practice of man step by step. Cognition, emotion and will are intimate in the theory of consciousness. If cognition can be measured with IQ, emotion with EQ, will may be measured with WQ.Introductory chapter presents brief explanation about the genesis, meaning, main content, creative point, main way of this research. So man can have a general but comprehensive appreciation.I review the posing bases of WQ in chapter one. Philosophy is the essence of modern spirit, the posing of every philosophy concept must have its theoretical and actual bases, or it will be meaningless, including the concept WQ. This chapter reviews the theoretical and actual bases of WQ's posing from this thought. The theoretical bases illustrate the necessity of WQ's posing mainly from the studies to cognition, emotion and will of philosophy and psychology. The actual bases indicate the posing of WQ is the need of social development, technological development and comprehensive development of man.Chapter two elaborates the historical roots of WQ systematically. This chapter mainly arranges the studies to WQ problem in Chinese philosophy history, western philosophy history and Marxism, at last concludes the studying condition of contemporary WQ problem. We can see from the studies to WQ problem of man in history, man upwards often involved the content of WQ in their theory studies although they didn't pose the concept of WQ specifically. This phenomenon exists in the western philosophy history in which the theory of will is abundant, and is not empty in Chinese philosophy history at all, not to speak of it in the rich will theory of Marxism. This chapter discusses the achievements and difficulties of the studies of contemporary WQ problem.Chapter three discusses concretely what is WQ on earth. The posing of a brand-new concept must have exacter definition, so is the concept of WQ, which this chapter is from. As the measurement of will, there is direct relation between WQ and will. This chapter discusses the relation of a thousand and one links at first, then definitely points out WQ isthe measurement of the will of man. The relative superiority or inferiority of WQ must obey rule, and there is close relation between WQ and the positioning of goal. In order to illustrate the essence of WQ more comprehensive, this chapter also discusses the premises of the existence of WQ and the characters of WQ.Chapter four discusses the relation of WQ, IQ and EQ.
