This dissertation analyses firstly the pioneering of the living area of Miao people , the uprising of Miao people in Yong Zheng, Qian Long, Xian Feng and Tong Zhi times in Qing Dynasty, then summaries the positive and negative influences of the policies and measures through the research of the central government's process of the Miao people in the southeast in Guizhou Province. Secondly, This dissertation finds the features and laws of the Miao society through summing up the influencing facts and sffects of the development of the economy of Miao society.The introduction part tells all readers the relative points of the dissertation. Firstly, it explains the cause of selecting the theme, then puts out the mentions that this dissertation will solve, they are the causes and the policies of Qing Dynasty's pioneering of the living area of Miao people, the history and the main measures of the government, the positive and negative influences of the policies and measures, the features and laws of the economy of the Miao society, etc.. At the same time, the dissertation stresses the values of the history. Secondly, this part introduces the research current situation on this theme. Thirdly, this part defines some concepts such as Miao and Miao people, the living area and that in Guizhou etc..The first chapter expounds the pioneering history of the central government before Qing Dynasty. This part relates the change of districts' from Yuan Dynasty to Ming Dynasty, by this part discovers the causes and the procedure of the form of living area of the Miao people in Guizhou and the political development of the area. Secondly, this part expounds the background and the political causes of the pioneering of the area through the research of the policies from Yuan Dynasty to Ming Dynasty.Chapter two expounds the pioneering of the area in Qing Dynasty. Firstly, this part relates the geological situation and the administrative divisions. Secondly, this part analyses the background by the policies of the early Qing Dynasty in pioneering of the area and "the replace tribal chief with government official", then speaks out that the pioneering of the area in Qing Dynasty was the need and the prerequisites of stabling the control over the area. Through all above, this part relates the procedure and the policies in detail. Thirdly, this part expounds the courses of the pioneering and the administrative and military divisions, then analyses the influences on the society of the area.Chapter three expounds the control on the area after the pioneering, this part relates detailly the causes and process and the measures in suppressing the uprising of Miao People during Yong Zheng, Qian Long, Xian Feng and Tong Zhi times, by which this part expounds the changes after the pioneering.Chapter four relates the positive and negative influences of the pioneering and govern of Qing Dynasty on the area. On the basis of all above, this part sums up the basic ideas, the process, then relates the positive influences on the development of the education and the economy of the area. At the same time, the history brought some negative influences to this area, because the central government procedured forces in pioneering the area, and it forbidded the Miao people's actions, and officials were corrupt and some measures could not had good endings as good beginnings. Both negative and positive influences were profound.The conclusion part sums up the features and the laws of Miao society in Qing Dynasty. This part analyses the causes and the features of the development of the area. The condition of the area before the pioneering were the main causes of the development the area, which were also the facts that influenced the policies of the central government and the setback of the development of the area. Miao people are brave and painstaking, they would uprise if they were suppressed.
