Mongolian Cultural Relations Research

The relationship between Manchu culture and Mongolian culture is an important part in Chinese cultural relationship of nationalities. It has long history and affluent contents. In this doctoral dissertation, I do some research on the relationship between Manchu culture and Mongolian culture from later Jing Dynasty to Xinhai Revolution according to the basic study methods of ethnology and culturology. By the study of the cultural relationship of this certain period, this article shows the general situation of relationship between Manchu culture and Mongolian Culture, tells about its history and developing law. This is the main idea and character of this article. On the detail of dissertating, I divide this article into four parts.There is a general introduction at the very beginning. In the introduction, the article tells about how did the cultural relationship between Manchu and Mongolia bring into being and what's its historical background, at the same time, introducing the level of research on this problem by the experts in China and aboard. In author's opinion, wherever in China or aboard, the research level on this problem is low. Also, the introduction tells the reference books and papers, tells the study methods and the significance of this dissertation.The first chapter tells on the material cultural relationship between Manchu and Mongolia. There are four sections in this chapter. The first section tells on the economic character and life style of Manchu and Mongolia, indicates that the difference between nomadic economy and agricultural economy is the premise of material cultural communication between Manchu and Mongolia, expounding the historical origin and cultural factors of this communication. Section two expounds the exchange form of tools of production and means of livelihood between Manchu and Mongolia, tells the relationship between the exchanges and economy, tells the origin of those exchanges. The third section expounds the interaction of food and drink and costume between Manchu and Mongolia, tells the detail information on this interaction and tells its significance on politics and culture. Section four shows the transportation situation from capital to Mongolian area, tells that all main roads served Qing government on all kinds of purpose such as politics, military and sending message, and this section also tells the varied sorts of tools which were used for transportation.Chapter two expounds the political relationship between Manchu and Mongolia. Section one mainly tells the foundation and nature of the military and social system of Eight Banner, and tells its characters and functions. Section two explains that as a basic social form, Eight Banner had positive and negative influence on society. Section three expounds that the upper class of Mongolia presented tribute to Qing government was an important way to keep the political cultural relationship between these two nationalities, tells the political and social cultural functions of such kind of tribute. Section four expounds the foundation and function of the department in Qing government in chargedof minority affairs, explains that this department had the character of both Manchu and Mongolia, tells its political function. Section five tells the marriage between Manchu and Mongolia, expounds that the purpose of such kind of marriage was to solid political alliance and resist common enemy, tells the basic forms of such marriage and its political, cultural and social functions.Chapter three expounds the spiritual cultural relationship between Manchu and Mongolia. Section one expounds the language relationship, tells the similarities and tells that those similarities helped in the communication between Manchu and Mongolian and helped the creation of Manchu script. Section two expounds the creation and development of Manchu script, tells the relationship between Manchu script and Mongolian script.
