This thesis is composed of introduction, text and conclusion.The introduction briefly introduces the value, structure and methods of the research.The text of thesis is divided into four chapters.Chapter one: the economic cause behind social transformation of China in the twentieth century. Charter one is composed of three parts. Firstly, the Marxist basic concept about the relation between economic factor and social transformation is expounded. According to the Marxism, the new economic factor, i.e. the origination of new productivity and mode of production is fundamental reason that social transformed. Therefore, the basic point must be followed, especially to social transformation of China in the twentieth century, in studying any social transformation. Secondly, the study of the origination and developing conditions of advanced productivity and mode of production of china at the end of the nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth century indicates the social transformation in twentieth century based on substantial economic basis. Thirdly, the contradictory between the productive forces and relations of production at the first half of twentieth century is analyzed by concrete representation. The further results showed that the bar of advanced productive forces and mode of production is low-grade mode of production in semi-colony and semi-feudal society of China. The development of social productivity and mode of production need social transformation of China.Chapter two: the political cause about social change of China in the twentieth century. Charter two is also composed of three parts. Firstly, The Marxist basic concept about the relation between political factor and social change is expounded. According to the Marxism, although the basic causeand ultimate cause of social change is economic factor, however, it is not a sole factor. Besides economic factor, there are many non-economic factors influence social transformation. In the many motive factors, the political factor is one of the important factor, the economic transformation depend on the political transformation. In the class societies, the direct force of developing of society is impelled by class struggle. Secondly, the origination and developing conditions of the new motive force of social transformation at the end of the nineteenth century and at the beginning of twentieth century is analyzed. Thirdly, The social revolution and social transformation are also the two direct motive forces to make social transformation of China in twentieth century.Chapter three: the ideological cause about social transformation of China in the twentieth century. In this chapter, firstly, the several guiding theories for social transformation before Marxism disseminated in china are introduced. The contents of traditional variability and west evolutionary are mainly introduced. Secondly, the reason of widely spread of Marxism in China and the tremendous influence for social transformation of china are analyzed. Thirdly, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping' points of view about social transformation are summarized to show that Marxism, Mao Zedong thought and Deng Xiaoping' theory are the ideological cause about social transformation of china in the twentieth century.Chapter four: the correct leadership under the Chinese Communist Party is basic guarantee of social transformation of China in the twentieth century. Firstly, the relationship between political party and social transformation is expounded. Secondly, the reason why the Chinese Communist Party can lead successfully social transformation of China in the twentieth century is analyzed. The results further showed that the crucial cause about social transformation of China in the twentieth century is the lead of the Chinese Communist Party.In summary, there are many motive forces in social transformation of China in twentieth century.
