This dissertation aims to examine the narration about the Minguo Times in contemporary Chinese novels, whose process has been reformed and linked with the changes of the context. It tries to understand how the writers view and narrate the Minguo Times. At the same time, it also tries to understand the reason why the writers view and narrate the Minguo Times like "this" way. It is examined from the angle of narrative content and narrative form.An Introduction: An Unceasingly Rewritten Sheep-leathered PaperFiction is a special kind of discourse that is based on the personal experience of the writer's. This type of discourse is inevitably restricted to its object and context, without exception to the narration about the Minguo Times in contemporary Chinese fiction. That period was versatile and obscure, the cultural space of contemporary China is changeable, which result in different features on the narration about the Minguo Times in contemporary Chinese novels. So the Minguo Times has become an unceasingly rewritten sheep-leathered paper in the art world. The First Chapter: The Covered and Remains by the Revolutionary Sky (1949-1966)Both the impact of the foundation of the People's Republic of China and the fiction tradition of History Biography and The Books of Songs impelled the writers to found a figurative history picture, which was complementary to the authoritative history discourse. With the help of the latent narration, which surpassed the sphere of the space, the writers made the reading effect to be objective history. So the Minguo Times was covered by the revolutionary sky. The remains of special personal memory and perceptual living form gave the fiction the lowest limit of aesthetic significance. The Second Chapter: The Pure and Lost of the Heroic Discourse (1967-1976)The extremely tip of the relationship between literature and politics made the fiction to keep pace with the "modern Peking opera". In order to mould the perfect and lofty hero, the novelists got rid of all impurities, such as the obscure social position, indescribable feeling of life, requirement of personal physiologic emotion, and formed the specific heroic discourse . But this pure heroic discourse violated the logic of life, and while,it also caused the internalspirit of the Minguo Times completely lost. The Third Chapter: The Illumination and Shelter by the Lights of Meditation (1977-1984)The novelist began to refute the Cultural Revolutionary in the new era, meanwhile they beautified the Minguo Times. So they only found some historical phenomenon, but could not review and rewrite the history of the Minguo Times, which was filled with complication and discrepancy. But after all, the local meditation tore the gap of suspicion and settled the first foundation stone for the overall meditation and the entire renovation of the narration about the Minguo Times. The Fourth Chapter: The Extreme and Limit of the Model Deconstructing (1985-1991)The introduction and importation of the contemporary western historical concept, the extension and deviousness of the history journey and the writers' personal special experience impelled the writers of the new generation to abandon the concept of the history and literature that they had had, and overwhelmed the classical mode of the narration about the Minguo Times completely. They broke the class boundary, released the personal desires, emphasized the accident in their novels. At the same time, they also tried to show the subjectivity of historical narration by different type of exploration. But the deconstruction was confined by the inherent gradation of the "prior text".The Fifth Chapter: The Scanning and Dye of Masses' View Point (1992-1997)Restricted by the operation of the market, writers could only treat the reality and history with the view of the masses'. So they saw and expressed the stableness of the Minguo Times, the long daily life and the historical continuity, which showed the traditional culture and spirit permeating and affecting people's life and behavi...
