Compared with male narration, the spiritual nature of female narration is to embody the female's experience (including experience of life, social experience, psychological experience, aesthetic experience and experience of desire) truly in the text, thus confirming the female's pursuit for value as a human subject. Owing to the restrictions of female experience, female narration shows the following characteristics: the deviation from dominant ideology; the interpretation of the development of history through the female's experience of life; the revelation the weakness of the male's spirit and the deformity of his personality; the creation of real and complex female figures, and the confirmation of female's desire. After all, female narration is determined by female's experience and their views on their own value, and is restricted by the epoch context and is related directly to various individual experiences, both of which interact to form the generality and individuality of female narration. There has been an extensive research of Wang Anyi's and Tie Ning's novel creation up to now, whereas few people has made a detailed and comparative study of the differences and similarities between their novel creation. Therefore this dissertation places the study of these two writers within the theoretical framework of gender and narration, basing the study upon the text and the writers themselves by applying psychoanalysis and cultural mode, through the comparison with male narration, with an aim to show the differences of male writers from female writers in their gender experience and gender value position. These differences exert some influence on the similarities in their application such narrative techniques as the narrative point of view, the creation of male and female figures and the research of male and female characters' psychology, etc. This thesis, by means of a comparison of their creation, is designed to uncover their individuality caused by their individual experience of life and valuetendency from their generality in female narration.Besides introduction and conclusion, this paper consists of four sections:The first chapter deals with their novels of marriage and love. Since its deviation from the dominant ideology, there is no more ultimate standard and fixed mode in dealing with the individualized problem concerning personal emotions. In the narration of man and woman there is always a love pattern of one man and several women. Male writers often avoid the moral judgment of male characters by exploring their inner feelings, and the creation of female characters seems flat and weak. Wang Anyi's and Tie Ning's novels reflect female's arduous feelings and their great vitality toward life by the representation of the female's daily lifeThe second chapter deals with the comparison of the novel about development, of history and of war. Due to the great differences of values between man and woman placed by male-authority culture, on the basis of sex unconsciousness, male writers all more or less show the male's violence tendency and sick-of-woman psychology, considering the female as the passive objective figure confined within the family. Wang Anyi and Tie Ning take the female's life value as their presupposition, admit their individual life desire, sing highly their subjective spirit and elicit their voices. The third chapter discusses the novel of personality and desire. In male narration male characters are depicted as the ones who suffer a lot and then go nearer to the sublime; whereas Wang Anyi and Tie Ning begin with the complex relations between man and woman and man's morbid personalities to criticize them. In the expression of man's and woman's physical desire, male narration always takes more sick-of-woman psychology and a complex attitude toward sex, and then sees female as male's desirable object; while Wang Anyi and Tie Ning take positive attitudes toward the female desire from the starting point of thefemale subjects, whose expressions of the desire of man and woman have harm...
