The progress of the era calls for the spirit of constantly striving to become stronger. Higher education emphasizes self-education. Individual development needs self-management. The key to the spirit of constantly striving to become stronger, self-education and self-management is self-control. The research chooses college students as subjects in the light of their physical and psychological characteristics, the suitability of their social role and the need of the present situation of such research. The research puts forward an integrated, self-organizing theoretical hypothesis of self-control after a review of literatures, ancient and present, at home and abroad, about control or self-control and with enlightenment of the predecessors' research results, and by exploring the etymological meaning of self-control, combining life experience and critical thinking and imagination, and unifying philosophical ideas, psychological mechanism and management process. Then the major question about the research on college students' self-control is subdivided into several minor questions at the levels of description, prediction and intervention. According to the three research paradigms of observation, correlation and experiment, opening questionnaires, group key issue interviews, structural questionnaires, implicit association tests and experiments were designed. The experiments were designed to verify the effect of the training of game experience, movie enjoyment, lecture persuasion respectively and the combination of different ways. The following results are obtained:(1) The expression and features of the self-control of college students are initially revealed.(2) The views on the factors influencing the self-control of college students are initially revealed.(3) The methods to improve the level of self-control used by college students are partially revealed.(4) The inner essentials, their relationships, and mutually influencing mechanism of college students' self-control are revealed.(5) The scale for measuring the level of college students' self-control is initially revealed.(6) There is an implicit mechanism in self-control is initially revealed.(7) The features of different training treatments and their combination's effects on self- control are initially revealed.(8) It is found that the effects of training treatments on explicit and implicit aspects of self-control have different characteristics, similar to Yin Yang.(9) The results in general confirm the hypotheses of the self-organizing theory of self-control advanced by the author. The conclusion: First, with self as the subject, within the three-dimension time and space constructed by life-cycle, society-cycle and universe-cycle, with individual physical, psychological and behaviors, as well as external environment and events as the object, with the principle goal of realizing all individual, social and universal harmonious development, self-control is a dynamically changing, self-organizing system of self-awakening, self-planning, self-executing, self-evaluating, self-motivating, self-correcting. Second, self-control is possible, follows certain laws, and can be improved through training. This research has innovative significance and extensively applicable value. In theory, this research creatively proposes and confirms a self-organizing theory of self-control, which embodies the integration of theory, guidance of practice and flexibility of application. It has important values in the explanation, prediction, and intervention of human self-control, and serves as a reference to psychological, educational, management, sociological research and so on.In method, this research tries to use sentences as material for the Implicit Association Test to discover the implicit effects of self-control. Brain storming is used in group key issue interviews, which proves to have high effectiveness and good effect. Characterized by action research and combining theoretical exploration with practical training, this research has good ecological v...
