Guided by the study method of cultural psychology pattern, this essay aims to probe the ideology and aritisty of Zhuangzi Inner Pieces in the process of the national thinking change.The whole essay is composed of three parts, introduction, body and conclusion.In the introduction the value and significance of this essay are briefly explicated.The body contains five chapters, investigating Zhuangzi Inner Pieces respectively from the aspects of the time background, the ideology and the artistic quality.Chapter One analyzes Zhuangzi's standpoint and basic ideas from two aspects, scholars' actual condition, the appearance of academic prosperity. Section One sketches the course of the scholar class's emergence and points out the duality of their existence. Section Two retraces the prosperous contention of a hundred schools of thought during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods.Chapter Two explores the four aspects of Zhuangzi's ideal existence pattern, which are respectively the ideas of uselessness, open-minded modesty, suihua and spiritual freedom. The former three all point at the spiritual freedom. From the basic worldly self-saving to the ultimate elusive detachment, a deep-seated logic is implied meaning from heaviness to mist.Chapter Three systematically organizes the images in Zhuangzi Inner Pieces. There are two major image groups in this book: the philosophical concept that uselessness implies abundant use explained by images of the slow-witted, the deformed and immortals; the philosophical concept that unknowing is profound knowing illustrated by the real people who attain the highest state of spiritual enlightenment, the illusory people in legend and the imagic people in allegory. In the course of changing from uselessness and self-saving to unknowing and highest state, human spirit is promoted from reality to ideality.Chapter Four concentrates on inner pieces' structure; deeper-going step-by-step structure; step-forward structure and generating structure, zhuangzi Inner pieces' seven articles are not dominated by a single structure, ratter, they are interwoven by the numerous types of structure ,that is, chain- structure going with step-forward structure, and step-by-step structure with chain-like structure. Therefor, Zhuangzi Inner pieces' structure is a multi-leveled complex one.Chapter Five studies the allegorical expression in illustrate Zhuangzi Inner Pieces. Allegory is the way of thinking in this book, which inherits and transforms mythology, making it the expression for Zhuangzi's philosophy. These allegories has a tendency to storylization in the aspects of zigzagging plots, changing scenes and the application of time concept. The strengthened philosophy gives prominence to the significance of allegories, while the strengthened storyline gives prominence to the narrative component, which leads to the disintegration of the relationship between allegories and mythologies.The conclusion part sums up the whole essay, presenting the new direction of Zhuangzi study from the angles of China culture development and national thinking development.
