This dissertation makes an in-depth discussion on the origin and development of the production and establishment of Yan'an literature pattern. Besides the introduction and the ending, there are six chapters altogether.Chapter I entitled from Popularizing Literature and Art to Worker- peasant-soldier Literature combs the train of thought of the evolution of the current of thought of popularizing literature and art. First, the popularization of literature and art promoted by the left-wing revolutionary literature under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party laid a theoretical and practical foundation for worker-peasant-soldier literature of Yan'an Period. Second, the publicity tradition of the Soviet literature set up originally by the Chinese Red Army in the Soviet Area in Fujian and Jiangxi provided the direct experience for Yan'an to establish the literature policy. Third, the ideological utterances for the grand masses formed according to the objects of revolutionary mobilization demand that literature confirm to the life of the grand masses.Chapter II entitled "Revolution" and Marginalization of Yan'an Literary Scholars investigates the prerequisite of the legalization of the utterance "revolution" and the significance of revolution for Yan'an literary scholars. The Chinese Communist Party is a party founded by intellectuals, but later it suffered serious "anxiety disorders of intellectuals" in the revolutionary practice and even marginalized intellectuals completely, which made them a special throng who constantly improved themselves so as to approach the workers and peasants. This not only reduced their confidence in literary and cultural creation, but influenced deeply the quality and style of Yan'an literature.Chapter III entitled Mao Zedong's War-time Democratic Idea and Yan'an Literary Ecology explains Mao's basic connotation of war-time democratic idea and the ecology of the integration of Yan'an literary level directed by him. Mao's understanding of democracy was distinctively practical. He thought that excessive democracy resulted in decentralization of the Party power, the political power and the military power. So he insisted in the full centralization of all kinds of powers by the Rectification Movement among the whole Party members. Before the Rectification Movement, Mao considered that Yan'an literary circles "tried to separate from the Party" and asked them to change their liberalistic tendencies by the Rectification Movement. While the policy of "governing by non-interference" pursued by the literary circles dominated by Zhang Wentian made it possible to develop new cultural undertakings, which was beneficial for the development of Yan'an literature.ChapterIV entitled Yan'an Literary Scholars' Identification of Identity and Utterance Crisis surveys the orientation of the intellectual identity identification of Yan'an literary scholars and the division and crisis of the intellectuals' words caused by the pressure from the utterances of the mainstream-ideology in view of the managing tendency of Literature and Art Monthly and the prosperity and adversity of the literary form essay.ChapterV entitled Talks and the Establishment of Yan'an Literature and Art Policy discerned and analyzed meticulously the historical background of Mao Zedong's Talks at Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art. And based on consulting and comparing the different versions of Talks, I reread this article and understand its superficial content and profound meanings from the three keywords "serve", "combine" and "reconstruct". Talks becomes the gist of formulating policy and system of literature and art and it also declares the completion of the integration of the thought of Yan'an literature and art creation. Both the evaluation of Guo Moruo's "scripture and power" and other persons' such as Hu Feng's different understandings of Talks indicate that even in the interior of left-wing culture circles disunity in creation thought also existed.ChapterVI entitled Examining the Cadres 'Personal Histories, Goin...
